Assurance

How do you know you are saved? Or do you think such assurance is unwarranted? --Aquatiki 07:42, 4 August 2008 (PDT)

Well, the way I act, the way I care for one another, and how I love each and every one another, somehow lets me know that I was saved from sin and that my sins have been forgiven. I'm not perfect, but I do know Jesus died for me, and all of us, as we all are loving Christians. I hope that's enough information. -- Ryan†Cross (talk) 16:53, 4 August 2008 (PDT)
I hope you don't think we are prying. My purpose in asking you these questions is to get to know you as a brother in Christ, not to have you pass some test or to find out sordid details about you. All of us need to grow in Christ and depend on Him more and more. I'm certainly not pretending I've "arrived" or something. I think my question was intended to reveal to whom or what you attribute authority. That is, how can we know anything? What is the measure by which we decide what is true? ... I think I'd better post more information about myself too! --Aquatiki 17:05, 4 August 2008 (PDT)
Heh, well, i certainly am not taking this as a test. I guess it seems like I'm taking one. But I'm not entirely sure how and what I'm supposed to do what your asking. -- Ryan†Cross (talk) 18:47, 4 August 2008 (PDT)
Chatting on talk page via the internet is such an odd means of communication! I guess I read too much into you summaries of your edits. 'Glad you did feel like it was a test.
The "pat" answer to what I'm saying is that the Bible without and the Holy Spirit within are the "normative norm" for all truth claims in life. How do you feel about such an answer? --Aquatiki 02:02, 5 August 2008 (PDT)

A few other simple details

Thanks for the info. I think Robert's question is a really important one. Less important but still interesting for me would be:

  • Is your real name Ryan Cross?
  • How old are you?

Answers:

1) No, my real name is not Ryan Cross. I do not feel the need to disclose it at the moment 2) I will not give the exact age due to privacy reasons, but I will say I am old enough to drive 3) I go to Catholic Churches, as I am a Catholic Christian -- Ryan†Cross (talk) 16:53, 4 August 2008 (PDT)

Hi Ryan. Thanks for the answers. No problems. I think at the moment we have enough bureaucrats, but I'm happy that your a sysop. Cheers. --Graham grove 09:22, 5 August 2008 (PDT)
I have absolutely no problem with just being an administrator. But if I do think I would need bureaucratship, I'll be sure to ask a bureaucrat first. I would image when this wiki gains more active users will the wiki would need more bureaucrats also. -- Ryan†Cross (talk) 15:07, 5 August 2008 (PDT)
