Romans 14 Text (WEB) Now accept one who is weak in faith, but not for disputes over opinions. One man has faith to eat all things, but he who is weak eats only vegetables. Don't let him who eats despise him who doesn't eat. Don't let him who doesn't eat judge him who eats, for God has accepted him. Who are you who judge another's servant? To his own lord he stands or falls. Yes, he will be made to stand, for God has power to make him stand. One man esteems one day as more important. Another esteems every day alike. Let each man be fully assured in his own mind. He who observes the day, observes it to the Lord; and he who does not observe the day, to the Lord he does not observe it. He who eats, eats to the Lord, for he gives God thanks. He who doesn't eat, to the Lord he doesn't eat, and gives God thanks. For none of us lives to himself, and none dies to himself. For if we live, we live to the Lord. Or if we die, we die to the Lord. If therefore we live or die, we are the Lord's. For to this end Christ died, rose, and lived again, that he might be Lord of both the dead and the living. But you, why do you judge your brother? Or you again, why do you despise your brother? For we will all stand before the judgment seat of Christ. For it is written, "'As I live,' says the Lord, 'to me every knee will bow. Every tongue will confess to God.'" So then each one of us will give account of himself to God. Therefore let's not judge one another any more, but judge this rather, that no man put a stumbling block in his brother's way, or an occasion for falling. I know, and am persuaded in the Lord Jesus, that nothing is unclean of itself; except that to him who considers anything to be unclean, to him it is unclean. Yet if because of food your brother is grieved, you walk no longer in love. Don't destroy with your food him for whom Christ died. Then don't let your good be slandered, for the Kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit. For he who serves Christ in these things is acceptable to God and approved by men. So then, let us follow after things which make for peace, and things by which we may build one another up. Don't overthrow God's work for food's sake. All things indeed are clean, however it is evil for that man who creates a stumbling block by eating. It is good to not eat meat, drink wine, nor do anything by which your brother stumbles, is offended, or is made weak. Do you have faith? Have it to yourself before God. Happy is he who doesn't judge himself in that which he approves. But he who doubts is condemned if he eats, because it isn't of faith; and whatever is not of faith is sin.
Romans 14 Text (Hebrew) ואת החלוש באמונה אותו קבלו ולא לדין את המחשבות׃ יש מאמין כי נכון לאכל כל דבר והחלוש יאכל רק את הירק׃ האכל אל יבז את אשר לא יאכל ואשר לא יאכל אל ידין את האכל כי קבל אתו האלהים׃ מי אתה כי תדין את עבד האחר הן לאדניו הוא יקום או יפל אבל יוקם כי יכל האלהים להקימו׃ יש מבדיל בין יום ליום ויש אשר כל הימים שוים בעיניו ויהי כל איש נכון בדעתו׃ השמר את היום לאדון שמר אתו ואשר איננו שמר את היום לאדון איננו שמר האכל לאדון הוא אכל כי מודה הוא לאלהים ואשר איננו אכל לאדון איננו אכל ומודה הוא לאלהים׃ כי אין איש מאתנו אשר יחיה לנפשו ואין איש אשר ימות לנפשו׃ כי כאשר נחיה נחיה לאדון וכאשר נמות נמות לאדון לכן אם נחיה ואם נמות לאדון הננו׃ כי לזאת מת המשיח ויקם ויחי למען יהיה אדון גם על המתים גם על החיים׃ ואתה למה זה תדין את אחיך או אתה למה תבוז לאחיך הלא כלנו עתידים לעמד לפני כסא דין אלהים׃ כי כתוב חי אני נאם יהוה כי לי תכרע כל ברך וכל לשון תודה לאלהים׃ הנה נא כל אחד ממנו על נפשו יתן חשבון לאלהים׃ לכן אל נדין עוד איש את רעהו כי אם זה יהי דינכם שלא יתן איש לפני אחיו מכשול או מוקש׃ ידעתי ומבטח אני באדון ישוע כי אין דבר טמא בפני עצמו ורק טמא הוא למי שיחשבנו לו לטמא׃ ואם יעצב אחיך על דבר האכל אינך מתהלך עוד בדרך האהבה אל נא תאבד באכלך את אשר בעדו מת המשיח׃ לכן הזהרו פן יהיה טובכם לגדופים׃ כי מלכות האלהים איננה אכילה ושתיה כי צדקה היא ושלום ושמחה ברוח הקדש׃ והעבד באלה את המשיח רצוי הוא לאלהים ובחון לאנשים׃ ועתה נרדפה דרך השלום ודרך הבנות יחד איש מרעהו׃ אל תהרוס את מעשה אלהים על דבר מאכל הן הכל טהור הוא אבל רע לאדם אשר יאכלנו במכשל לבו׃ טוב שלא תאכל בשר ולא תשתה יין ולא תעשה דבר אשר יתנגף בו אחיך או יכשל או יחלש׃ יש לך אמונה תהי לך לבדך לפני האלהים אשרי מי שלא ידין את נפשו בדבר אשר כשר בעיניו׃ ואשר לו ספק באכלו נאשם כי לא עשה מאמונה וכל אשר נעשה מבלי אמונה חטא הוא,׃
Romans 14 Text (Greek) τον δε ασθενουντα τη πιστει προσλαμβανεσθε μη εις διακρισεις διαλογισμων ος μεν πιστευει φαγειν παντα ο δε ασθενων λαχανα εσθιει ο εσθιων τον μη εσθιοντα μη εξουθενειτω ο δε μη εσθιων τον εσθιοντα μη κρινετω ο θεος γαρ αυτον προσελαβετο συ τις ει ο κρινων αλλοτριον οικετην τω ιδιω κυριω στηκει η πιπτει σταθησεται δε δυνατει γαρ ο κυριος στησαι αυτον ος μεν κρινει ημεραν παρ ημεραν ος δε κρινει πασαν ημεραν εκαστος εν τω ιδιω νοι πληροφορεισθω ο φρονων την ημεραν κυριω φρονει και ο εσθιων κυριω εσθιει ευχαριστει γαρ τω θεω και ο μη εσθιων κυριω ουκ εσθιει και ευχαριστει τω θεω ουδεις γαρ ημων εαυτω ζη και ουδεις εαυτω αποθνησκει εαν τε γαρ ζωμεν τω κυριω ζωμεν εαν τε αποθνησκωμεν τω κυριω αποθνησκομεν εαν τε ουν ζωμεν εαν τε αποθνησκωμεν του κυριου εσμεν εις τουτο γαρ χριστος απεθανεν και εζησεν ινα και νεκρων και ζωντων κυριευση συ δε τι κρινεις τον αδελφον σου η και συ τι εξουθενεις τον αδελφον σου παντες γαρ παραστησομεθα τω βηματι του θεου γεγραπται γαρ ζω εγω λεγει κυριος οτι εμοι καμψει παν γονυ και πασα γλωσσα εξομολογησεται τω θεω αρα εκαστος ημων περι εαυτου λογον δωσει μηκετι ουν αλληλους κρινωμεν αλλα τουτο κρινατε μαλλον το μη τιθεναι προσκομμα τω αδελφω η σκανδαλον οιδα και πεπεισμαι εν κυριω ιησου οτι ουδεν κοινον δι εαυτου ει μη τω λογιζομενω τι κοινον ειναι εκεινω κοινον ει γαρ δια βρωμα ο αδελφος σου λυπειται ουκετι κατα αγαπην περιπατεις μη τω βρωματι σου εκεινον απολλυε υπερ ου χριστος απεθανεν μη βλασφημεισθω ουν υμων το αγαθον ου γαρ εστιν η βασιλεια του θεου βρωσις και ποσις αλλα δικαιοσυνη και ειρηνη και χαρα εν πνευματι αγιω ο γαρ εν τουτω δουλευων τω χριστω ευαρεστος τω θεω και δοκιμος τοις ανθρωποις αρα ουν τα της ειρηνης διωκωμεν και τα της οικοδομης της εις αλληλους μη ενεκεν βρωματος καταλυε το εργον του θεου παντα μεν καθαρα αλλα κακον τω ανθρωπω τω δια προσκομματος εσθιοντι καλον το μη φαγειν κρεα μηδε πιειν οινον μηδε εν ω ο αδελφος σου προσκοπτει συ πιστιν εχεις κατα σεαυτον εχε ενωπιον του θεου μακαριος ο μη κρινων εαυτον εν ω δοκιμαζει ο δε διακρινομενος εαν φαγη κατακεκριται οτι ουκ εκ πιστεως παν δε ο ουκ εκ πιστεως αμαρτια εστιν
Romans 14 Text (Latin) Infirmum autem in fide assumite, non in disceptationibus cogitationum. Alius enim credit se manducare omnia : qui autem infirmus est, olus manducet. Is qui manducat, non manducantem non spernat : et qui non manducat, manducantem non judicet : Deus enim illum assumpsit. Tu quis es, qui judicas alienum servum ? domino suo stat, aut cadit : stabit autem : potens est enim Deus statuere illum. Nam alius judicat diem inter diem : alius autem judicat omnem diem : unusquisque in suo sensu abundet. Qui sapit diem, Domino sapit, et qui manducat, Domino manducat : gratias enim agit Deo. Et qui non manducat, Domino non manducat, et gratias agit Deo. Nemo enim nostrum sibi vivit, et nemo sibi moritur. Sive enim vivemus, Domino vivimus : sive morimur, Domino morimur. Sive ergo vivimus, sive morimur, Domini sumus. In hoc enim Christus mortuus est, et resurrexit : ut et mortuorum et vivorum dominetur. Tu autem quid judicas fratrem tuum ? aut tu quare spernis fratrem tuum ? omnes enim stabimus ante tribunal Christi. Scriptum est enim : Vivo ego, dicit Dominus, quoniam mihi flectetur omne genu : et omnis lingua confitebitur Deo. Itaque unusquisque nostrum pro se rationem reddet Deo. Non ergo amplius invicem judicemus : sed hoc judicate magis, ne ponatis offendiculum fratri, vel scandalum. Scio, et confido in Domino Jesu, quia nihil commune per ipsum, nisi ei qui existimat quid commune esset, illi commune est. Si enim propter cibum frater tuus contristatur, jam non secundum caritatem ambulas. Noli cibo tuo illum perdere, pro quo Christus mortuus est. Non ergo blasphemetur bonum nostrum. Non est enim regnum Dei esca et potus : sed justitia, et pax, et gaudium in Spiritu Sancto : qui enim in hoc servit Christo, placet Deo, et probatus est hominibus. Itaque quæ pacis sunt, sectemur : et quæ ædificationis sunt, in invicem custodiamus. Noli propter escam destruere opus Dei, omnia quidem sunt munda : sed malum est homini, qui per offendiculum manducat. Bonum est non manducare carnem, et non bibere vinum, neque in quo frater tuus offenditur, aut scandalizatur, aut infirmatur. Tu fidem habes ? penes temetipsum habe coram Deo. Beatus qui non judicat semetipsum in eo quod probat. Qui autem discernit, si manducaverit, damnatus est : quia non ex fide. Omne autem, quod non est ex fide, peccatum est.
Romans 14 Text (KJV) Him that is weak in the faith receive ye, but not to doubtful disputations. For one believeth that he may eat all things: another, who is weak, eateth herbs. Let not him that eateth despise him that eateth not; and let not him which eateth not judge him that eateth: for God hath received him. Who art thou that judgest another man's servant? to his own master he standeth or falleth. Yea, he shall be holden up: for God is able to make him stand. One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind. He that regardeth the day, regardeth it unto the Lord; and he that regardeth not the day, to the Lord he doth not regard it. He that eateth, eateth to the Lord, for he giveth God thanks; and he that eateth not, to the Lord he eateth not, and giveth God thanks. For none of us liveth to himself, and no man dieth to himself. For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord's. For to this end Christ both died, and rose, and revived, that he might be Lord both of the dead and living. But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ. For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God. So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God. Let us not therefore judge one another any more: but judge this rather, that no man put a stumblingblock or an occasion to fall in his brother's way. I know, and am persuaded by the Lord Jesus, that there is nothing unclean of itself: but to him that esteemeth any thing to be unclean, to him it is unclean. But if thy brother be grieved with thy meat, now walkest thou not charitably. Destroy not him with thy meat, for whom Christ died. Let not then your good be evil spoken of: For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost. For he that in these things serveth Christ is acceptable to God, and approved of men. Let us therefore follow after the things which make for peace, and things wherewith one may edify another. For meat destroy not the work of God. All things indeed are pure; but it is evil for that man who eateth with offence. It is good neither to eat flesh, nor to drink wine, nor any thing whereby thy brother stumbleth, or is offended, or is made weak. Hast thou faith? have it to thyself before God. Happy is he that condemneth not himself in that thing which he alloweth. And he that doubteth is damned if he eat, because he eateth not of faith: for whatsoever is not of faith is sin.
