Psalm 82 Text (WEB) God presides in the great assembly. He judges among the gods. "How long will you judge unjustly, and show partiality to the wicked?" Selah. "Defend the weak, the poor, and the fatherless. Maintain the rights of the poor and oppressed. Rescue the weak and needy. Deliver them out of the hand of the wicked." They don't know, neither do they understand. They walk back and forth in darkness. All the foundations of the earth are shaken. I said, "You are gods, all of you are sons of the Most High. Nevertheless you shall die like men, and fall like one of the rulers." Arise, God, judge the earth, for you inherit all of the nations. A song. A Psalm by Asaph.
Psalm 82 Text (Hebrew) מזמור לאסף אלהים נצב בעדת־אל בקרב אלהים ישפט׃ עד־מתי תשפטו־עול ופני רשעים תשאו־סלה׃ שפטו־דל ויתום עני ורש הצדיקו׃ פלטו־דל ואביון מיד רשעים הצילו׃ לא ידעו ולא יבינו בחשכה יתהלכו ימוטו כל־מוסדי ארץ׃ אני־אמרתי אלהים אתם ובני עליון כלכם׃ אכן כאדם תמותון וכאחד השרים תפלו׃ קומה אלהים שפטה הארץ כי־אתה תנחל בכל־הגוים׃
Psalm 82 Text (Greek) ψαλμος τω ασαφ ο θεος εστη εν συναγωγη θεων εν μεσω δε θεους εως ποτε κρινετε αδικιαν και προσωπα αμαρτωλων λαμβανετε κρινατε ορφανον και πτωχον ταπεινον και πενητα εξελεσθε πενητα και πτωχον εκ χειρος αμαρτωλου ουκ εγνωσαν ουδε συνηκαν εν σκοτει διαπορευονται σαλευθησονται παντα τα θεμελια της εγω ειπα θεοι εστε και υιοι υψιστου υμεις δε ως ανθρωποι αποθνησκετε και ως εις των αρχοντων αναστα ο θεος κρινον την γην οτι συ κατακληρονομησεις εν πασιν τοις
Psalm 82 Text (Latin) Psalmus Asaph. Deus stetit in synagoga deorum ; in medio autem deos dijudicat. Usquequo judicatis iniquitatem, et facies peccatorum sumitis ? Judicate egeno et pupillo ; humilem et pauperem justificate. Eripite pauperem, et egenum de manu peccatoris liberate. Nescierunt, neque intellexerunt ; in tenebris ambulant ; movebuntur omnia fundamenta terræ. Ego dixi : Dii estis, et filii Excelsi omnes. Vos autem sicut homines moriemini, et sicut unus de principibus cadetis. Surge, Deus, judica terram, quoniam tu hæreditabis in omnibus gentibus.
Psalm 82 Text (KJV) God standeth in the congregation of the mighty; he judgeth among the gods. How long will ye judge unjustly, and accept the persons of the wicked? Selah. Defend the poor and fatherless: do justice to the afflicted and needy. Deliver the poor and needy: rid them out of the hand of the wicked. They know not, neither will they understand; they walk on in darkness: all the foundations of the earth are out of course. I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High. But ye shall die like men, and fall like one of the princes. Arise, O God, judge the earth: for thou shalt inherit all nations.
