- "You shall make an altar to burn incense on. You shall make it of acacia wood.
- Its length shall be a cubit, and its breadth a cubit. It shall be square, and its height shall be two cubits. Its horns shall be of one piece with it.
- You shall overlay it with pure gold, its top, its sides around it, and its horns; and you shall make a gold molding around it.
- You shall make two golden rings for it under its molding; on its two ribs, on its two sides you shall make them; and they shall be for places for poles with which to bear it.
- You shall make the poles of acacia wood, and overlay them with gold.
- You shall put it before the veil that is by the ark of the testimony, before the mercy seat that is over the testimony, where I will meet with you.
- Aaron shall burn incense of sweet spices on it every morning. When he tends the lamps, he shall burn it.
- When Aaron lights the lamps at evening, he shall burn it, a perpetual incense before Yahweh throughout your generations.
- You shall offer no strange incense on it, nor burnt offering, nor meal offering; and you shall pour no drink offering on it.
- Aaron shall make atonement on its horns once in the year; with the blood of the sin offering of atonement once in the year he shall make atonement for it throughout your generations. It is most holy to Yahweh."
- Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying,
- "When you take a census of the children of Israel, according to those who are numbered among them, then each man shall give a ransom for his soul to Yahweh, when you number them; that there be no plague among them when you number them.
- They shall give this, everyone who passes over to those who are numbered, half a shekel after the shekel of the sanctuary; (the shekel is twenty gerahs;) half a shekel for an offering to Yahweh.
- Everyone who passes over to those who are numbered, from twenty years old and upward, shall give the offering to Yahweh.
- The rich shall not give more, and the poor shall not give less, than the half shekel, when they give the offering of Yahweh, to make atonement for your souls.
- You shall take the atonement money from the children of Israel, and shall appoint it for the service of the Tent of Meeting; that it may be a memorial for the children of Israel before Yahweh, to make atonement for your souls."
- Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying,
- "You shall also make a basin of brass, and its base of brass, in which to wash. You shall put it between the Tent of Meeting and the altar, and you shall put water in it.
- Aaron and his sons shall wash their hands and their feet in it.
- When they go into the Tent of Meeting, they shall wash with water, that they not die; or when they come near to the altar to minister, to burn an offering made by fire to Yahweh.
- So they shall wash their hands and their feet, that they not die: and it shall be a statute forever to them, even to him and to his descendants throughout their generations."
- Moreover Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying,
- "Also take fine spices: of liquid myrrh, five hundred shekels; and of fragrant cinnamon half as much, even two hundred and fifty; and of fragrant cane, two hundred and fifty;
- and of cassia five hundred, after the shekel of the sanctuary; and a hin of olive oil.
- You shall make it a holy anointing oil, a perfume compounded after the art of the perfumer: it shall be a holy anointing oil.
- You shall use it to anoint the Tent of Meeting, the ark of the testimony,
- the table and all its articles, the lampstand and its accessories, the altar of incense,
- the altar of burnt offering with all its utensils, and the basin with its base.
- You shall sanctify them, that they may be most holy. Whatever touches them shall be holy.
- You shall anoint Aaron and his sons, and sanctify them, that they may minister to me in the priest's office.
- You shall speak to the children of Israel, saying, 'This shall be a holy anointing oil to me throughout your generations.
- It shall not be poured on man's flesh, neither shall you make any like it, according to its composition: it is holy. It shall be holy to you.
- Whoever compounds any like it, or whoever puts any of it on a stranger, he shall be cut off from his people.'"
- Yahweh said to Moses, "Take to yourself sweet spices, gum resin, and onycha, and galbanum; sweet spices with pure frankincense: of each shall there be an equal weight;
- and you shall make incense of it, a perfume after the art of the perfumer, seasoned with salt, pure and holy:
- and you shall beat some of it very small, and put some of it before the testimony in the Tent of Meeting, where I will meet with you. It shall be to you most holy.
- The incense which you shall make, according to its composition you shall not make for yourselves: it shall be to you holy for Yahweh.
- Whoever shall make any like that, to smell of it, he shall be cut off from his people."

- ועשית מזבח מקטר קטרת עצי שטים תעשה אתו׃
- אמה ארכו ואמה רחבו רבוע יהיה ואמתים קמתו ממנו קרנתיו׃
- וצפית אתו זהב טהור את־גגו ואת־קירתיו סביב ואת־קרנתיו ועשית לו זר זהב סביב׃
- ושתי טבעת זהב תעשה־לו מתחת לזרו על שתי צלעתיו תעשה על־שני צדיו והיה לבתים לבדים לשאת אתו בהמה׃
- ועשית את־הבדים עצי שטים וצפית אתם זהב׃
- ונתתה אתו לפני הפרכת אשר על־ארן העדת לפני הכפרת אשר על־העדת אשר אועד לך שמה׃
- והקטיר עליו אהרן קטרת סמים בבקר בבקר בהיטיבו את־הנרת יקטירנה׃
- ובהעלת אהרן את־הנרת בין הערבים יקטירנה קטרת תמיד לפני יהוה לדרתיכם׃
- לא־תעלו עליו קטרת זרה ועלה ומנחה ונסך לא תסכו עליו׃
- וכפר אהרן על־קרנתיו אחת בשנה מדם חטאת הכפרים אחת בשנה יכפר עליו לדרתיכם קדש־קדשים הוא ליהוה׃ ף
- וידבר יהוה אל־משה לאמר׃
- כי תשא את־ראש בני־ישראל לפקדיהם ונתנו איש כפר נפשו ליהוה בפקד אתם ולא־יהיה בהם נגף בפקד אתם׃
- זה יתנו כל־העבר על־הפקדים מחצית השקל בשקל הקדש עשרים גרה השקל מחצית השקל תרומה ליהוה׃
- כל העבר על־הפקדים מבן עשרים שנה ומעלה יתן תרומת יהוה׃
- העשיר לא־ירבה והדל לא ימעיט ממחצית השקל לתת את־תרומת יהוה לכפר על־נפשתיכם׃
- ולקחת את־כסף הכפרים מאת בני ישראל ונתת אתו על־עבדת אהל מועד והיה לבני ישראל לזכרון לפני יהוה לכפר על־נפשתיכם׃ ף
- וידבר יהוה אל־משה לאמר׃
- ועשית כיור נחשת וכנו נחשת לרחצה ונתת אתו בין־אהל מועד ובין המזבח ונתת שמה מים׃
- ורחצו אהרן ובניו ממנו את־ידיהם ואת־רגליהם׃
- בבאם אל־אהל מועד ירחצו־מים ולא ימתו או בגשתם אל־המזבח לשרת להקטיר אשה ליהוה׃
- ורחצו ידיהם ורגליהם ולא ימתו והיתה להם חק־עולם לו ולזרעו לדרתם׃ ף
- וידבר יהוה אל־משה לאמר׃
- ואתה קח־לך בשמים ראש מר־דרור חמש מאות וקןמן־בשם מחציתו חמשים ומאתים וקנה־בשם חמשים ומאתים׃
- וקדה חמש מאות בשקל הקדש ושמן זית הין׃
- ועשית אתו שמן משחת־קדש רקח מרקחת מעשה רקח שמן משחת־קדש יהיה׃
- ומשחת בו את־אהל מועד ואת ארון העדת׃
- ואת־השלחן ואת־כל־כליו ואת־המנרה ואת־כליה ואת מזבח הקטרת׃
- ואת־מזבח העלה ואת־כל־כליו ואת־הכיר ואת־כנו׃
- וקדשת אתם והיו קדש קדשים כל־הנגע בהם יקדש׃
- ואת־אהרן ואת־בניו תמשח וקדשת אתם לכהן לי׃
- ואל־בני ישראל תדבר לאמר שמן משחת־קדש יהיה זה לי לדרתיכם׃
- על־בשר אדם לא ייסך ובמתכנתו לא תעשו כמהו קדש הוא קדש יהיה לכם׃
- איש אשר ירקח כמהו ואשר יתן ממנו על־זר ונכרת מעמיו׃ ס
- ויאמר יהוה אל־משה קח־לך סמים נטף ושחלת וחלבנה סמים ולבנה זכה בד בבד יהיה׃
- ועשית אתה קטרת רקח מעשה רוקח ממלח טהור קדש׃
- ושחקת ממנה הדק ונתתה ממנה לפני העדת באהל מועד אשר אועד לך שמה קדש קדשים תהיה לכם׃
- והקטרת אשר תעשה במתכנתה לא תעשו לכם קדש תהיה לך ליהוה׃
- איש אשר־יעשה כמוה להריח בה ונכרת מעמיו׃ ס

- Facies quoque altare ad adolendum thymiama, de lignis setim,
- habens cubitum longitudinis, et alterum latitudinis, id est, quadrangulum, et duos cubitos in altitudine. Cornua ex ipso procedent.
- Vestiesque illud auro purissimo, tam craticulam ejus, quam parietes per circuitum, et cornua. Faciesque ei coronam aureolam per gyrum,
- et duos annulos aureos sub corona per singula latera, ut mittantur in eos vectes, et altare portetur.
- Ipsos quoque vectes facies de lignis setim, et inaurabis.
- Ponesque altare contra velum, quod ante arcum pendet testimonii coram propitiatorio quo tegitur testimonium, ubi loquar tibi.
- Et adolebit incensum super eo Aaron, suave fragrans, mane. Quando componet lucernas, incendet illud :
- et quando collocabit eas ad vesperum, uret thymiama sempiternum coram Domino in generationes vestras.
- Non offeretis super eo thymiama compositionis alterius, nec oblationem, et victimam, nec libabitis libamina.
- Et deprecabitur Aaron super cornua ejus semel per annum, in sanguine quod oblatum est pro peccato, et placabit super eo in generationibus vestris. Sanctum sanctorum erit Domino.
- Locutusque est Dominus ad Moysen, dicens :
- Quando tuleris summam filiorum Israël juxta numerum, dabunt singuli pretium pro animabus suis Domino, et non erit plaga in eis, cum fuerint recensiti.
- Hoc autem dabit omnis qui transit ad nomen, dimidium sicli juxta mensuram templi (siclus viginti obolos habet) ; media pars sicli offeretur Domino.
- Qui habetur in numero, a viginti annis et supra, dabit pretium.
- Dives non addet ad medium sicli, et pauper nihil minuet.
- Susceptamque pecuniam, quæ collata est a filiis Israël, trades in usus tabernaculi testimonii, ut sit monimentum eorum coram Domino, et propitietur animabus eorum.
- Locutusque est Dominus ad Moysen, dicens :
- Facies et labrum æneum cum basi sua ad lavandum : ponesque illud inter tabernaculum testimonii et altare. Et missa aqua,
- lavabunt in ea Aaron et filii ejus manus suas ac pedes,
- quando ingressuri sunt tabernaculum testimonii, et quando accessuri sunt ad altare, ut offerant in eo thymiama Domino,
- ne forte moriantur ; legitimum sempiternum erit ipsi, et semini ejus per successiones.
- Locutusque est Dominus ad Moysen,
- dicens : Sume tibi aromata, primæ myrrhæ et electæ quingentos siclos, et cinnamomi medium, id est, ducentos quinquaginta siclos, calami similiter ducentos quinquaginta,
- casiæ autem quingentos siclos, in pondere sanctuarii, olei de olivetis mensuram hin :
- faciesque unctionis oleum sanctum, unguentum compositum opere unguentarii,
- et unges ex eo tabernaculum testimonii, et arcam testamenti,
- mensamque cum vasis suis, et candelabrum, et utensilia ejus, altaria thymiamatis,
- et holocausti, et universam supellectilem quæ ad cultum eorum pertinet.
- Sanctificabisque omnia, et erunt Sancta sanctorum ; qui tetigerit ea, sanctificabitur.
- Aaron et filios ejus unges, sanctificabisque eos, ut sacerdotio fungantur mihi.
- Filiis quoque Israël dices : Hoc oleum unctionis sanctum erit mihi in generationes vestras.
- Caro hominis non ungetur ex eo, et juxta compositionem ejus non facietis aliud, quia sanctificatum est, et sanctum erit vobis.
- Homo quicumque tale composuerit, et dederit ex eo alieno, exterminabitur de populo suo.
- Dixitque Dominus ad Moysen : Sume tibi aromata, stacten et onycha, galbanum boni odoris, et thus lucidissimum ; æqualis ponderis erunt omnia :
- faciesque thymiama compositum opere unguentarii, mistum diligenter, et purum, et sanctificatione dignissimum.
- Cumque in tenuissimum pulverem universa contuderis, pones ex eo coram tabernaculo testimonii, in quo loco apparebo tibi. Sanctum sanctorum erit vobis thymiama.

- And thou shalt make an altar to burn incense upon: of shittim wood shalt thou make it.
- A cubit shall be the length thereof, and a cubit the breadth thereof; foursquare shall it be: and two cubits shall be the height thereof: the horns thereof shall be of the same.
- And thou shalt overlay it with pure gold, the top thereof, and the sides thereof round about, and the horns thereof; and thou shalt make unto it a crown of gold round about.
- And two golden rings shalt thou make to it under the crown of it, by the two corners thereof, upon the two sides of it shalt thou make it; and they shall be for places for the staves to bear it withal.
- And thou shalt make the staves of shittim wood, and overlay them with gold.
- And thou shalt put it before the vail that is by the ark of the testimony, before the mercy seat that is over the testimony, where I will meet with thee.
- And Aaron shall burn thereon sweet incense every morning: when he dresseth the lamps, he shall burn incense upon it.
- And when Aaron lighteth the lamps at even, he shall burn incense upon it, a perpetual incense before the LORD throughout your generations.
- Ye shall offer no strange incense thereon, nor burnt sacrifice, nor meat offering; neither shall ye pour drink offering thereon.

- Upon man's flesh shall it not be poured, neither shall ye make any other like it, after the composition of it: it is holy, and it shall be holy unto you.
- Whosoever compoundeth any like it, or whosoever putteth any of it upon a stranger, shall even be cut off from his people.
- And the LORD said unto Moses, Take unto thee sweet spices, stacte, and onycha, and galbanum; these sweet spices with pure frankincense: of each shall there be a like weight:
- And thou shalt make it a perfume, a confection after the art of the apothecary, tempered together, pure and holy:
- And thou shalt beat some of it very small, and put of it before the testimony in the tabernacle of the congregation, where I will meet with thee: it shall be unto you most holy.
- And as for the perfume which thou shalt make, ye shall not make to yourselves according to the composition thereof: it shall be unto thee holy for the LORD.
- Whosoever shall make like unto that, to smell thereto, shall even be cut off from his people.
