Esther 10 Text (WEB)
  1. King Ahasuerus laid a tribute on the land, and on the islands of the sea.
  2. All the acts of his power and of his might, and the full account of the greatness of Mordecai, to which the king advanced him, aren't they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Media and Persia?
  3. For Mordecai the Jew was next to King Ahasuerus, and great among the Jews, and accepted by the multitude of his brothers, seeking the good of his people, and speaking peace to all his descendants.

  1. וישם המלך מס על־הארץ ואיי הים׃
  2. וכל־מעשה תקפו וגבורתו ופרשת גדלת מרדכי אשר גדלו המלך הלוא־הם כתובים על־ספר דברי הימים למלכי מדי ופרס׃
  3. כי מרדכי היהודי משנה למלך אחשורוש וגדול ליהודים ורצוי לרב אחיו דרש טוב לעמו ודבר שלום לכל־זרעו׃

  1. εγραψεν δε ο βασιλευς τελη επι την βασιλειαν της τε γης και της
  2. και την ισχυν αυτου και ανδραγαθιαν πλουτον τε και δοξαν της βασιλειας αυτου ιδου γεγραπται εν βιβλιω βασιλεων περσων και μηδων εις
  3. ο δε μαρδοχαιος διεδεχετο τον βασιλεα αρταξερξην και μεγας ην εν τη βασιλεια και δεδοξασμενος υπο των ιουδαιων και φιλουμενος διηγειτο την αγωγην παντι τω εθνει

  1. Rex vero Assuerus omnem terram, et cunctas maris insulas fecit tributarias :
  2. cujus fortitudo et imperium, et dignitas atque sublimitas, qua exaltavit Mardochæum, scripta sunt in libris Medorum, atque Persarum :
  3. et quomodo Mardochæus judaici generis secundus a rege Assuero fuerit : et magnus apud Judæos, et acceptabilis plebi fratrum suorum, quærens bona populo suo, et loquens ea, quæ ad pacem seminis sui pertinerent.
