Then Daniel, whose name was Belteshazzar, was stricken mute for a while, and his thoughts troubled him. The king answered, Belteshazzar, don't let the dream, or the interpretation, trouble you. Belteshazzar answered, My lord, the dream be to those who hate you, and its interpretation to your adversaries.

Greek | μεγαλως δε εθαυμασεν ο δανιηλ και υπονοια κατεσπευδεν αυτον και φοβηθεις τρομου λαβοντος αυτον και αλλοιωθεισης της ορασεως αυτου κινησας την κεφαλην ωραν μιαν αποθαυμασας απεκριθη μοι φωνη πραεια βασιλευ το ενυπνιον τουτο τοις μισουσι σε και η συγκρισις αυτου τοις εχθροις σου |
Latin | Tunc Daniel, cujus nomen Baltassar, cœpit intra semetipsum tacitus cogitare quasi una hora : et cogitationes ejus conturbabant eum. Respondens autem rex, ait : Baltassar, somnium et interpretatio ejus non conturbent te. Respondit Baltassar, et dixit : Domine mi, somnium his, qui te oderunt, et interpretatio ejus hostibus tuis sit. |
