The men of Israel were distressed that day; for Saul had adjured the people, saying, "Cursed is the man who eats any food until it is evening, and I am avenged of my enemies." So none of the people tasted food.

Hebrew ואיש־ישראל נגש ביום ההוא ויאל שאול את־העם לאמר ארור האיש אשר־יאכל לחם עד־הערב ונקמתי מאיבי ולא טעם כל־העם לחם׃ ס
Greek και σαουλ ηγνοησεν αγνοιαν μεγαλην εν τη ημερα εκεινη και αραται τω λαω λεγων επικαταρατος ο ανθρωπος ος φαγεται αρτον εως εσπερας και εκδικησω τον εχθρον μου και ουκ εγευσατο πας ο λαος
Latin Et viri Israël sociati sunt sibi in die illa : adjuravit autem Saul populum, dicens : Maledictus vir, qui comederit panem usque ad vesperam, donec ulciscar de inimicis meis. Et non manducavit universus populus panem :
KJV And the men of Israel were distressed that day: for Saul had adjured the people, saying, Cursed be the man that eateth any food until evening, that I may be avenged on mine enemies. So none of the people tasted any food.
