He took a yoke of oxen, and cut them in pieces, and sent them throughout all the borders of Israel by the hand of messengers, saying, "Whoever doesn't come forth after Saul and after Samuel, so shall it be done to his oxen." The dread of Yahweh fell on the people, and they came out as one man.

Hebrew ויקח צמד בקר וינתחהו וישלח בכל־גבול ישראל ביד המלאכים לאמר אשר איננו יצא אחרי שאול ואחר שמואל כה יעשה לבקרו ויפל פחד־יהוה על־העם ויצאו כאיש אחד׃
Greek και ελαβεν δυο βοας και εμελισεν αυτας και απεστειλεν εις παν οριον ισραηλ εν χειρι αγγελων λεγων ος ουκ εστιν εκπορευομενος οπισω σαουλ και οπισω σαμουηλ κατα ταδε ποιησουσιν τοις βουσιν αυτου και επηλθεν εκστασις κυριου επι τον λαον ισραηλ και εβοησαν ως ανηρ
Latin Et assumens utrumque bovem, concidit in frustra, misitque in omnes terminos Israël per manum nuntiorum, dicens : Quicumque non exierit, et secutus fuerit Saul et Samuel, sic fiet bobus ejus. Invasit ergo timor Domini populum, et egressi sunt quasi vir unus.
KJV And he took a yoke of oxen, and hewed them in pieces, and sent them throughout all the coasts of Israel by the hands of messengers, saying, Whosoever cometh not forth after Saul and after Samuel, so shall it be done unto his oxen. And the fear of the LORD fell on the people, and they came out with one consent.
