The World English Bible (WEB) is a public domain translation of the [[Bible]] that is currently in draft form. It is based on the 1901 [[American Standard Version]], the [[Greek Majority Text]], and the [[Hebrew Biblia Hebraica Stuttgartensia]]. Work on the World English Bible began in 1997 with the purpose to produce a modern English Bible version that is not copyrighted and isn't translated in Basic English (such as the Bible In Basic English).
