Hi,

I am a Christian believer by faith, resident in Internal Medicine by profession located in Philadelphia, PA. I am technology enthusiast, having taught myself many of the softwares involved in web building. Having started successful websites like Residentscafe, a popular website for residents and residency applicants, Believerscafe and, wikimd, I strongly believe that a wiki is an ideal tool for people to work together on the internet to create and organize information.

I started this website, along with some friends like Dr. Graham Grove from Australia, in order to build an open source Christian Encyclopedia. Our vision is to build a free Christian Encyclopedia, public domain wiki and Bible resource and a wiki Christian community representing the contemporary church thinking and philosophy.

While there are many wiki's for secular information, we felt a need for a dedicated Christian wiki that will not only serve as a wiki community, but also serves as a source for information and an encyclopedia on Christianity.

I strongly believe that there is strength in togetherness/unity and as a group, we can help build a free Christian Encyclopedia that represents the contemporary concepts in Christian Theology and Faith. You can reach me at prab at residentscafe dot com. May God bless you all.

Read a note from me in the About page.

Declaration

I declare that I do not have any commercial interest in this project and would keep the website not-for-profit. We may latter register it as a not for profit organization, as we grow. If you would like to share your views on improving this project, please drop me a line at my email id or leave the message in the talk page here. If you are a committed Christian interested in becoming a wiki sysop, you may contact us for information on how to become a sysop.

I strongly believe that Christians have to rise up and stand for the important issues in the society in a day and age where truth is blurred and falsehood and sin are exaulted. WikiChristian would serve as a forum to represent the current concepts and trends in Christian Community the world over and will serve as a source of information, fellowship and inspiration. As this is a collaborative effort, it can only be made possible by participation from users like you!

Remember that "when you cast your bread on the waters with faith, it will return one day back to you with butter on top of it". May God blesss you for your hardwork.

May God Bless you richly! Prab R Tumpati, MD

I have been a bit busy with my rotations in the hospital but I am spending some time adding some links in the web directory. I think, wikiChristian should create an open source wiki directory of sites and links to the cream of the Christian web with useful reviews on websites so that it would help all of us. We do not have to reinvent the wheel by trying to write on things that are already written a lot about on the itnernet. Not to mean we are changing our focus from being an encyclopedia, but I think an encyclopedia is enhanced if it can lead to other sources of information on any given item or topic.

Please share your views and add your 2 cents in building the best open source Christian web site directory. I am also spending some time in building a list of the best medical websites and resources in our other wiki site - [wikimd.org. I actually spend some time watching all the free CME videos on the internet. We can probabably do the same on wikichristian by compiling a list of free christian videos and webcasts.

WikiChristian is growing everyday and so are the needs! We are looking for people that can keep the wiki organized by keeping an eye on dead end pages, by using proper categories, by creating appropriate templates and to come up with unique Christian collaborative project ideas! In order to help organize the wiki, please look at the special pages and visit the different pages there so you know what can be done to help improve some of the pages. Dead end pages are those that do not have a single wiki link! One easy way of avoiding the dead end pages is to create categories and templates and use them at the bottom so that the pages do not become dead end pages.

Reply to sysop offer

I'd be most pleased to accept. :) It's one side of wiki's that I have not yet had the privilege of experiencing. --Mustaphile 16:55, 6 May 2005 (PDT)

Created a new logo for wikichristian with a globe in the background, the Holy Bible in the center, Wikichristian at the top and The Free Encyclopedia in the bottom. Also updated the background image of all the pages with a big globe with the inscription God Loves You at the top of the globe and WikiChristian in the lower middle of the globe. You can leave your comments on the new logo and background here! Hope it is an improvement in the look of the website! It looks much better to me!

God bless you all!

God bless Wikichristian!
