But the tax collector, standing far away, wouldn't even lift up his eyes to heaven, but beat his breast, saying, 'God, be merciful to me, a sinner!' Luke 18:13

Synopsis

Sin is any act, or thought, or word or choice thing that is contrary to the will of God or falls short of perfection - "Be perfect, even as your Father in Heaven". It is anything that separates us from God. Sin leads to spiritual blindness and to death. In the Bible we are taught that every person is under sin, yet, 'while we were still helpless, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly'.
