Psalm 147 Text (WEB) Praise Yah, for it is good to sing praises to our God; for it is pleasant and fitting to praise him. Yahweh builds up Jerusalem. He gathers together the outcasts of Israel. He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds. He counts the number of the stars. He calls them all by their names. Great is our Lord, and mighty in power. His understanding is infinite. Yahweh upholds the humble. He brings the wicked down to the ground. Sing to Yahweh with thanksgiving. Sing praises on the harp to our God, who covers the sky with clouds, who prepares rain for the earth, who makes grass grow on the mountains. He provides food for the livestock, and for the young ravens when they call. He doesn't delight in the strength of the horse. He takes no pleasure in the legs of a man. Yahweh takes pleasure in those who fear him, in those who hope in his loving kindness. Praise Yahweh, Jerusalem! Praise your God, Zion! For he has strengthened the bars of your gates. He has blessed your children within you. He makes peace in your borders. He fills you with the finest of the wheat. He sends out his commandment to the earth. His word runs very swiftly. He gives snow like wool, and scatters frost like ashes. He hurls down his hail like pebbles. Who can stand before his cold? He sends out his word, and melts them. He causes his wind to blow, and the waters flow. He shows his word to Jacob; his statutes and his ordinances to Israel. He has not done this for just any nation. They don't know his ordinances. Praise Yah!
Psalm 147 Text (Hebrew) הללו יה כי־טוב זמרה אלהינו כי־נעים נאוה תהלה׃ בונה ירושלם יהוה נדחי ישראל יכנס׃ הרפא לשבורי לב ומחבש לעצבותם׃ מונה מספר לכוכבים לכלם שמות יקרא׃ גדול אדונינו ורב־כח לתבונתו אין מספר׃ מעודד ענוים יהוה משפיל רשעים עדי־ארץ׃ ענו ליהוה בתודה זמרו לאלהינו בכנור׃ המכסה שמים בעבים המכין לארץ מטר המצמיח הרים חציר׃ נותן לבהמה לחמה לבני ערב אשר יקראו׃ לא בגבורת הסוס יחפץ לא־בשוקי האיש ירצה׃ רוצה יהוה את־יראיו את־המיחלים לחסדו׃ שבחי ירושלם את־יהוה הללי אלהיך ציון׃ כי־חזק בריחי שעריך ברך בניך בקרבך׃ השם־גבולך שלום חלב חטים ישביעך׃ השלח אמרתו ארץ עד־מהרה ירוץ דברו׃ הנתן שלג כצמר כפור כאפר יפזר׃ משליך קרחו כפתים לפני קרתו מי יעמד׃ ישלח דברו וימסם ישב רוחו יזלו־מים׃ מגיד ליעקב חקיו ומשפטיו לישראל׃ לא עשה כן לכל־גוי ומשפטים בל־ידעום הללו־יה׃
Psalm 147 Text (Greek) αλληλουια αγγαιου και ζαχαριου αινειτε τον κυριον οτι αγαθον ψαλμος τω θεω ημων ηδυνθειη οικοδομων ιερουσαλημ ο κυριος και τας διασπορας του ισραηλ ο ιωμενος τους συντετριμμενους την καρδιαν και δεσμευων τα συντριμματα ο αριθμων πληθη αστρων και πασιν αυτοις ονοματα μεγας ο κυριος ημων και μεγαλη η ισχυς αυτου και της συνεσεως αυτου ουκ εστιν αναλαμβανων πραεις ο κυριος ταπεινων δε αμαρτωλους εως της εξαρξατε τω κυριω εν εξομολογησει ψαλατε τω θεω ημων εν τω περιβαλλοντι τον ουρανον εν νεφελαις τω ετοιμαζοντι τη γη υετον τω εξανατελλοντι εν ορεσι χορτον και χλοην τη δουλεια των διδοντι τοις κτηνεσι τροφην αυτων και τοις νεοσσοις των κορακων τοις επικαλουμενοις ουκ εν τη δυναστεια του ιππου θελησει ουδε εν ταις κνημαις του ανδρος ευδοκει κυριος εν τοις φοβουμενοις αυτον και εν τοις ελπιζουσιν επι το ελεος αλληλουια αγγαιου και ζαχαριου επαινει ιερουσαλημ τον κυριον αινει τον θεον σου οτι ενισχυσεν τους μοχλους των πυλων σου ευλογησεν τους υιους σου εν ο τιθεις τα ορια σου ειρηνην και στεαρ πυρου εμπιπλων ο αποστελλων το λογιον αυτου τη γη εως ταχους δραμειται ο λογος του διδοντος χιονα ωσει εριον ομιχλην ωσει σποδον βαλλοντος κρυσταλλον αυτου ωσει ψωμους κατα προσωπον ψυχους αυτου τις αποστελει τον λογον αυτου και τηξει αυτα πνευσει το πνευμα αυτου και ρυησεται απαγγελλων τον λογον αυτου τω ιακωβ δικαιωματα και κριματα αυτου τω ουκ εποιησεν ουτως παντι εθνει και τα κριματα αυτου ουκ εδηλωσεν
Psalm 147 Text (Latin) Alleluja. Laudate Dominum, quoniam bonus est psalmus ; Deo nostro sit jucunda, decoraque laudatio. Ædificans Jerusalem Dominus, dispersiones Israëlis congregabit ; qui sanat contritos corde, et alligat contritiones eorum ; qui numerat multitudinem stellarum, et omnibus eis nomina vocat. Magnus Dominus noster, et magna virtus ejus ; et sapientiæ ejus non est numerus. Suscipiens mansuetos Dominus ; humilians autem peccatores usque ad terram. Præcinite Domino in confessione, psallite Deo nostro in cithara. Qui operit cælum nubibus, et parat terræ pluviam ; qui producit in montibus fœnum, et herbam servituti hominum ; qui dat jumentis escam ipsorum, et pullis corvorum invocantibus eum. Non in fortitudine equi voluntatem habebit, nec in tibiis viri beneplacitum erit ei. Beneplacitum est Domino super timentes eum, et in eis qui sperant super misericordia ejus. Alleluja. Lauda, Jerusalem, Dominum ; lauda Deum tuum, Sion. Quoniam confortavit seras portarum tuarum, benedixit filiis tuis in te. Qui posuit fines tuos pacem, et adipe frumenti satiat te. Qui emittit eloquium suum terræ, velociter currit sermo ejus. Qui dat nivem sicut lanam, nebulam sicut cinerem spargit. Mittit crystallum suum sicut buccellas : ante faciem frigoris ejus quis sustinebit ? Emittet verbum suum, et liquefaciet ea ; flabit spiritus ejus, et fluent aquæ. Psalm 147 Text (KJV) Praise ye the LORD: for it is good to sing praises unto our God; for it is pleasant; and praise is comely. The LORD doth build up Jerusalem: he gathereth together the outcasts of Israel. He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds. He telleth the number of the stars; he calleth them all by their names. Great is our Lord, and of great power: his understanding is infinite. The LORD lifteth up the meek: he casteth the wicked down to the ground. Sing unto the LORD with thanksgiving; sing praise upon the harp unto our God: Who covereth the heaven with clouds, who prepareth rain for the earth, who maketh grass to grow upon the mountains. He giveth to the beast his food, and to the young ravens which cry. He delighteth not in the strength of the horse: he taketh not pleasure in the legs of a man. The LORD taketh pleasure in them that fear him, in those that hope in his mercy. Praise the LORD, O Jerusalem; praise thy God, O Zion. For he hath strengthened the bars of thy gates; he hath blessed thy children within thee. He maketh peace in thy borders, and filleth thee with the finest of the wheat. He sendeth forth his commandment upon earth: his word runneth very swiftly. He giveth snow like wool: he scattereth the hoarfrost like ashes. He casteth forth his ice like morsels: who can stand before his cold? He sendeth out his word, and melteth them: he causeth his wind to blow, and the waters flow. He sheweth his word unto Jacob, his statutes and his judgments unto Israel. He hath not dealt so with any nation: and as for his judgments, they have not known them. Praise ye the LORD.
