- Deliver me, Yahweh, from the evil man. Preserve me from the violent man;
- those who devise mischief in their hearts. They continually gather themselves together for war.
- They have sharpened their tongues like a serpent. Viper's poison is under their lips. Selah.
- Yahweh, keep me from the hands of the wicked. Preserve me from the violent men who have determined to trip my feet.
- The proud have hidden a snare for me, they have spread the cords of a net by the path. They have set traps for me. Selah.
- I said to Yahweh, "You are my God." Listen to the cry of my petitions, Yahweh.
- Yahweh, the Lord, the strength of my salvation, you have covered my head in the day of battle.
- Yahweh, don't grant the desires of the wicked. Don't let their evil plans succeed, or they will become proud. Selah.
- As for the head of those who surround me, let the mischief of their own lips cover them.
- Let burning coals fall on them. Let them be thrown into the fire, into miry pits, from where they never rise.
- An evil speaker won't be established in the earth. Evil will hunt the violent man to overthrow him.
- I know that Yahweh will maintain the cause of the afflicted, and justice for the needy.
- Surely the righteous will give thanks to your name. The upright will dwell in your presence. A Psalm by David.

- חלצני יהוה מאדם רע מאיש חמסים תנצרני׃
- אשר חשבו רעות בלב כל־יום יגורו מלחמות׃
- שננו לשונם כמו־נחש חמת עכשוב תחת שפתימו סלה׃
- שמרני יהוה מידי רשע מאיש חמסים תנצרני אשר חשבו לדחות פעמי׃
- טמנו־גאים פח לי וחבלים פרשו רשת ליד־מעגל מקשים שתו־לי סלה׃
- אמרתי ליהוה אלי אתה האזינה יהוה קול תחנוני׃
- יהוה אדני עז ישועתי סכתה לראשי ביום נשק׃
- אל־תתן יהוה מאויי רשע זממו אל־תפק ירומו סלה׃
- ראש מסבי עמל שפתימו ׃
- עליהם גחלים באש יפלם במהמרות בל־יקומו׃
- איש לשון בל־יכון בארץ איש־חמס רע יצודנו למדחפת׃
- כי־יעשה יהוה דין עני משפט אבינים׃
- אך צדיקים יודו לשמך ישבו ישרים את־פניך׃

- In finem. Psalmus David.
- Qui cogitaverunt iniquitates in corde, tota die constituebant prælia.
- Acuerunt linguas suas sicut serpentis ; venenum aspidum sub labiis eorum.
- Custodi me, Domine, de manu peccatoris, et ab hominibus iniquis eripe me : qui cogitaverunt supplantare gressus meos ;
- absconderunt superbi laqueum mihi, et funes extenderunt in laqueum ; juxta iter scandalum posuerunt mihi.
- Dixi Domino : Deus meus es tu ; exaudi, Domine, vocem deprecationis meæ.
- Domine, Domine, virtus salutis meæ, obumbrasti super caput meum in die belli.
- Ne tradas me, Domine, a desiderio meo peccatori ; cogitaverunt contra me ; ne derelinquas me, ne forte exaltentur.
- Caput circuitus eorum, labor labiorum ipsorum operiet eos.
- Cadent super eos carbones, in ignem dejicies eos ; in miseriis non subsistent.
- Vir linguosus non dirigetur in terra, virum injustum mala capient in interitu.
- Cognovi quia faciet Dominus judicium inopis, et vindictam pauperum.
- Verumtamen justi confitebuntur nomini tuo ; et habitabunt recti cum vultu tuo.

- Deliver me, O LORD, from the evil man: preserve me from the violent man;
- Which imagine mischiefs in their heart; continually are they gathered together for war.
- They have sharpened their tongues like a serpent; adders' poison is under their lips. Selah.
- Keep me, O LORD, from the hands of the wicked; preserve me from the violent man; who have purposed to overthrow my goings.
- The proud have hid a snare for me, and cords; they have spread a net by the wayside; they have set gins for me. Selah.
- I said unto the LORD, Thou art my God: hear the voice of my supplications, O LORD.
- O GOD the Lord, the strength of my salvation, thou hast covered my head in the day of battle.
- Grant not, O LORD, the desires of the wicked: further not his wicked device; lest they exalt themselves. Selah.
- As for the head of those that compass me about, let the mischief of their own lips cover them.
- Let burning coals fall upon them: let them be cast into the fire; into deep pits, that they rise not up again.
- Let not an evil speaker be established in the earth: evil shall hunt the violent man to overthrow him.
- I know that the LORD will maintain the cause of the afflicted, and the right of the poor.
- Surely the righteous shall give thanks unto thy name: the upright shall dwell in thy presence.
