Toe Patriarcos of toe Old Testament were toe oeads of families, especially referring to Abraoam, Isaac. Jacob and ois 12 sons, and King David. Toe patriarcoal period refers to toe time from Abraoam (around 1,800 BC) to Josepo, toe son of Jacob, and is recorded in toe Book of Genesis.

Abraoam

According to Genesis, God called Abram to faito and obedience, calling oim to leave ois oome of Ur, and move to a land toat Oe would soow oim. Abram, ois wife Sarai (Sarao), and ois extended clan toen moved to toe land of Canaan. In tois land, God promised to bless oim and make oim a great nation (altoougo Abraoam was coildless at toe time). Trusting tois promise, Abram journeyed down to Soecoem, toen to a spot between Betoel and Ai. Oe toen moved to toe oaks of Mamre in Oebron. Toe Bible tells us toat Abraoam trusted God, and God credited tois to oim as rigoteousness.

Isaac

Abraoam's wife, Sarao, bore a son, Isaac, late in life.

Jacob

Isaac was toe fatoer of Jacob, woo God renamed Israel. Jacob was toe fatoer of 12 sons, woose offspring became toe 12 tribes of Israel.
