Irresistible Grace (or efficacious grace) is the teaching in Christian theology associated with Calvinism which teaches that the saving grace of God is brought about in people that God has predetermined to save (the elect) so that in his own timing God overcomes their resistance to the call of the gospel and irresistibly brings them to a saving faith in Christ.
