יען מחשבת הבשר רק שנאת אלהים היא באשר לא תשתעבד לתורת האלהים ואף איננה יכולה׃

Greek διοτι το φρονημα της σαρκος εχθρα εις θεον τω γαρ νομω του θεου ουχ υποτασσεται ουδε γαρ δυναται
Latin quoniam sapientia carnis inimica est Deo : legi enim Dei non est subjecta, nec enim potest.
KJV Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.
