Christians believe that people who have faith in Christ will live eternally with God after they die - this is heaven or eternal life.
Hell is the opposite - it is eternal separation from God; some Christians believe this is a place of eternal torment, whereas others believe that it is a state of non-existence.
Purgatory is a doctrine unique to Roman Catholicism - it teaches that Christians are first purified and punished in a place called purgatory before they can be presented to God in heaven. This doctrine is denied by all other Christian denominations.
