Monotheism (from the Greek: μονος = single, θεος = God) is the belief in the existence of one deity or God. Four major monotheistic religions are Zoroastrianism, Judaism, Christianity and Islam. In Deuteronomy 6:4 in the Old Testament we are told, "Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one."
