Hebrew ויהי כאשר אסר להכותו ברצועות ויאמר אל שר המאה העמד עליו האף רשיון לכם להכות איש רומי בלא דין ומשפט׃
Greek ως δε προετειναν αυτον τοις ιμασιν ειπεν προς τον εστωτα εκατονταρχον ο παυλος ει ανθρωπον ρωμαιον και ακατακριτον εξεστιν υμιν μαστιζειν
Latin Et cum astrinxissent eum loris, dicit astanti sibi centurioni Paulus : Si hominem Romanum, et indemnatum licet vobis flagellare ?
KJV And as they bound him with thongs, Paul said unto the centurion that stood by, Is it lawful for you to scourge a man that is a Roman, and uncondemned?
