Hebrew למען תמצא אמונתכם המזקקה יקרה הרבה מן הזהב האבד הצרוף באש לתהלה ולכבוד ולתפארת בהתגלות ישוע המשיח׃
Greek ινα το δοκιμιον υμων της πιστεως πολυτιμοτερον χρυσιου του απολλυμενου δια πυρος δε δοκιμαζομενου ευρεθη εις επαινον και δοξαν και τιμην εν αποκαλυψει ιησου χριστου
Latin ut probatio vestræ fidei multo pretiosior auro (quod per ignem probatur) inveniatur in laudem, et gloriam, et honorem in revelatione Jesu Christi :
