For before those days there was no wages for man, nor any wages for an animal; neither was there any peace to him who went out or came in, because of the adversary. For I set all men everyone against his neighbor.

Hebrew כי לפני הימים ההם שכר האדם לא נהיה ושכר הבהמה איננה וליוצא ולבא אין־שלום מן־הצר ואשלח את־כל־האדם איש ברעהו׃
Greek διοτι προ των ημερων εκεινων ο μισθος των ανθρωπων ουκ εσται εις ονησιν και ο μισθος των κτηνων ουχ υπαρξει και τω εκπορευομενω και τω εισπορευομενω ουκ εσται ειρηνη απο της θλιψεως και εξαποστελω παντας τους ανθρωπους εκαστον επι τον πλησιον
Latin Siquidem ante dies illos merces hominum non erat, nec merces jumentorum erat : neque introëunti, neque exeunti erat pax præ tribulatione : et dimisi omnes homines, unumquemque contra proximum suum.
KJV For before these days there was no hire for man, nor any hire for beast; neither was there any peace to him that went out or came in because of the affliction: for I set all men every one against his neighbour.
