I'd be interested to hear the pros and cons of the new redirection of Roman Catholicism to Catholicism. I'm not an expert on the topic, but it would be good to learn a bit more about the official titles. Anyone have any links? Cheers. --[[User:Graham grove|Graham]] 06:10, 24 April 2010 (UTC)

:: That's very helpful. Thanks. You've made some good changes related to Catholicism in various articles. Thanks for doing that. One of the aims of articles on WikiChristian is clarity. Explaining points with simple, clear language is essential so that Christians of different backgrounds can make sense of the information whether they are formally educated in theology or not. Another aim of WikiChristian is to maintain a Christian perspective whilst realizing that there are often variety of opinions for a topic. A few clear doctrinal statements have been made and these can be seen in the Statement of Faith page and the Page Layout page, but for additional theological debates, these should be written about in neutral and friendly language (and not using adversarial language). Thus it's great to have someone on board who can make sure articles which discuss Catholic and Protestant differences are written with friendly language. And of course there are opinion articles for people who want to write about their specific views and opinions. --[[User:Graham grove|Graham]] 21:50, 24 April 2010 (UTC)

In the article it says its a major christian denomination. I think it should be changed to biggest christian denom because it is. The peace of god be upon you.--Sir James Paul 12:05, 27 May 2007 (EST)

It might be better to say that the protestant churches split away from the Roman Catholic Church based on differences in opinion of doctrine, especially the issue of "Justification by faith ALONE" versus "Justificattion by faith INCLUDING works".

Catholic doctrine does not teach that faith AND works are necessary but that faith has to include works.

Roman refers to the A) Bishop of Rome being the Pope, or B) the Roman/Latin Rite of the Mass. Many people say "Roman" and "Anglican" Catholic Church as if they are the same religion but different rites. It is true for say, the Byzantine Catholic Church Which is in union with the Pope at Rome. :The Anglicans are not, as with the Greek Orthodox Church, though the Holy See recognized the valid sacraments of the Greek Orthodox Church.

At Wikipedia you can see the article has the title "Catholic Church" and then "also known as" the Roman Catholic Church.

Sorry if this is confusing, but I'm not used to being an apologist explaining to Protestants, I'm better with Mormons... Any more questions? ~Darth Stabro ~(Talk) 09:30, 24 April 2010 (UTC)
