The following decade [[Cecil B.DeMille]] became famous for making films with religious themes. With the film [[The Ten Commandments (1923 film)|The Ten Commandments]] (1923) DeMille brought Christian filmaking to a new level. [[Carl Dreyer]] created [[La Passion de Jeanne d'Arc]] in 1928, which is considered among some film critics to be one of the greatest movies of all time.
