Psalm 14 Text (WEB) The fool has said in his heart, "There is no God." They are corrupt. They have done abominable works. There is none who does good. Yahweh looked down from heaven on the children of men, to see if there were any who did understand, who did seek after God. They have all gone aside. They have together become corrupt. There is none who does good, no, not one. Have all the workers of iniquity no knowledge, who eat up my people as they eat bread, and don't call on Yahweh? There they were in great fear, for God is in the generation of the righteous. You frustrate the plan of the poor, because Yahweh is his refuge. Oh that the salvation of Israel would come out of Zion! When Yahweh restores the fortunes of his people, then Jacob shall rejoice, and Israel shall be glad. A Psalm by David.
Psalm 14 Text (Hebrew) למנצח לדוד אמר נבל בלבו אין אלהים השחיתו התעיבו עלילה אין עשה־טוב׃ יהוה משמים השקיף על־בני־אדם לראות היש משכיל דרש את־אלהים׃ הכל סר יחדו נאלחו אין עשה־טוב אין גם־אחד׃ הלא ידעו כל־פעלי און אכלי עמי אכלו לחם יהוה לא קראו׃ שם פחדו פחד כי־אלהים בדור צדיק׃ עצת־עני תבישו כי יהוה מחסהו׃ מי יתן מציון ישועת ישראל בשוב יהוה שבות עמו יגל יעקב ישמח ישראל׃
Psalm 14 Text (Greek) εις το τελος ψαλμος τω δαυιδ ειπεν αφρων εν καρδια αυτου ουκ εστιν θεος διεφθειραν και εβδελυχθησαν εν επιτηδευμασιν ουκ εστιν ποιων χρηστοτητα ουκ εστιν εως κυριος εκ του ουρανου διεκυψεν επι τους υιους των ανθρωπων του ιδειν ει εστιν συνιων η εκζητων τον παντες εξεκλιναν αμα ηχρεωθησαν ουκ εστιν ποιων χρηστοτητα ουκ εστιν εως ενος ταφος ανεωγμενος ο λαρυγξ αυτων ταις γλωσσαις αυτων εδολιουσαν ιος ασπιδων υπο τα χειλη αυτων ων το στομα αρας και πικριας γεμει οξεις οι ποδες αυτων εκχεαι αιμα συντριμμα και ταλαιπωρια εν ταις οδοις αυτων και οδον ειρηνης ουκ εγνωσαν ουκ εστιν φοβος θεου απεναντι των οφθαλμων ουχι γνωσονται παντες οι εργαζομενοι την ανομιαν οι κατεσθιοντες τον λαον μου βρωσει αρτου τον κυριον ουκ εκει εδειλιασαν φοβω ου ουκ ην φοβος οτι ο θεος εν γενεα βουλην πτωχου κατησχυνατε οτι κυριος ελπις αυτου τις δωσει εκ σιων το σωτηριον του ισραηλ εν τω επιστρεψαι κυριον την αιχμαλωσιαν του λαου αυτου αγαλλιασθω ιακωβ και ευφρανθητω
Psalm 14 Text (Latin) In finem. Psalmus David. Dixit insipiens in corde suo : Non est Deus. Corrupti sunt, et abominabiles facti sunt in studiis suis ; non est qui faciat bonum, non est usque ad unum. Dominus de cælo prospexit super filios hominum, ut videat si est intelligens, aut requirens Deum. Omnes declinaverunt, simul inutiles facti sunt. Non est qui faciat bonum, non est usque ad unum. Sepulchrum patens est guttur eorum ; linguis suis dolose agebant. Venenum aspidum sub labiis eorum. Quorum os maledictione et amaritudine plenum est ; veloces pedes eorum ad effundendum sanguinem. Contritio et infelicitas in viis eorum, et viam pacis non cognoverunt ; non est timor Dei ante oculos eorum. Nonne cognoscent omnes qui operantur iniquitatem, qui devorant plebem meam sicut escam panis ? Dominum non invocaverunt ; illic trepidaverunt timore, ubi non erat timor. Quoniam Dominus in generatione justa est, consilium inopis confudistis, quoniam Dominus spes ejus est. Quis dabit ex Sion salutare Israël ? Cum averterit Dominus captivitatem plebis suæ, exsultabit Jacob, et lætabitur Israël.
Psalm 14 Text (KJV) The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good. The LORD looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, and seek God. They are all gone aside, they are all together become filthy: there is none that doeth good, no, not one. Have all the workers of iniquity no knowledge? who eat up my people as they eat bread, and call not upon the LORD. There were they in great fear: for God is in the generation of the righteous. Ye have shamed the counsel of the poor, because the LORD is his refuge. Oh that the salvation of Israel were come out of Zion! when the LORD bringeth back the captivity of his people, Jacob shall rejoice, and Israel shall be glad.
