  1. When Israel went forth out of Egypt, the house of Jacob from a people of foreign language;
  2. Judah became his sanctuary, Israel his dominion.
  3. The sea saw it, and fled. The Jordan was driven back.
  4. The mountains skipped like rams, the little hills like lambs.
  5. What was it, you sea, that you fled? You Jordan, that you turned back?
  6. You mountains, that you skipped like rams; you little hills, like lambs?
  7. Tremble, you earth, at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the God of Jacob,
  8. who turned the rock into a pool of water, the flint into a spring of waters.

  1. בצאת ישראל ממצרים בית יעקב מעם לעז׃
  2. היתה יהודה לקדשו ישראל ממשלותיו׃
  3. הים ראה וינס הירדן יסב לאחור׃
  4. ההרים רקדו כאילים גבעות כבני־צאן׃
  5. מה־לך הים כי תנוס הירדן תסב לאחור׃
  6. ההרים תרקדו כאילים גבעות כבני־צאן׃
  7. מלפני אדון חולי ארץ מלפני אלוה יעקב׃
  8. ההפכי הצור אגם־מים חלמיש למעינו־מים׃

  1. αλληλουια εν εξοδω ισραηλ εξ αιγυπτου οικου ιακωβ εκ λαου
  2. εγενηθη ιουδαια αγιασμα αυτου ισραηλ εξουσια
  3. η θαλασσα ειδεν και εφυγεν ο ιορδανης εστραφη εις τα
  4. τα ορη εσκιρτησαν ωσει κριοι και οι βουνοι ως αρνια
  5. τι σοι εστιν θαλασσα οτι εφυγες και σοι ιορδανη οτι ανεχωρησας εις τα
  6. τα ορη οτι εσκιρτησατε ωσει κριοι και οι βουνοι ως αρνια
  7. απο προσωπου κυριου εσαλευθη η γη απο προσωπου του θεου
  8. του στρεψαντος την πετραν εις λιμνας υδατων και την ακροτομον εις πηγας

  2. facta est Judæa sanctificatio ejus, Israël potestas ejus.
  3. Mare vidit, et fugit ; Jordanis conversus est retrorsum.
  4. Montes exsultaverunt ut arietes, et colles sicut agni ovium.
  5. Quid est tibi, mare, quod fugisti ? et tu, Jordanis, quia conversus es retrorsum ?
  6. montes, exsultastis sicut arietes ? et colles sicut agni ovium ?
  7. A facie Domini mota est terra, a facie Dei Jacob ;
  8. qui convertit petram in stagna aquarum, et rupem in fontes aquarum.

  6. Ye mountains, that ye skipped like rams; and ye little hills, like lambs?
  7. Tremble, thou earth, at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the God of Jacob;
  8. Which turned the rock into a standing water, the flint into a fountain of waters.
