- A wise son listens to his father's instruction, but a scoffer doesn't listen to rebuke.
- By the fruit of his lips, a man enjoys good things; but the unfaithful crave violence.
- He who guards his mouth guards his soul. One who opens wide his lips comes to ruin.
- The soul of the sluggard desires, and has nothing, but the desire of the diligent shall be fully satisfied.
- A righteous man hates lies, but a wicked man brings shame and disgrace.
- Righteousness guards the way of integrity, but wickedness overthrows the sinner.

- בן חכם מוסר אב ולץ לא־שמע גערה׃
- מפרי פי־איש יאכל טוב ונפש בגדים חמס׃
- נצר פיו שמר נפשו פשק שפתיו מחתה־לו׃
- מתאוה ואין נפשו עצל ונפש חרצים תדשן׃
- דבר־שקר ישנא צדיק ורשע יבאיש ויחפיר׃
- צדקה תצר תם־דרך ורשעה תסלף חטאת׃
- יש מתעשר ואין כל מתרושש והון רב׃
- כפר נפש־איש עשרו ורש לא־שמע גערה׃
- אור־צדיקים ישמח ונר רשעים ידעך׃
- רק־בזדון יתן מצה ואת־נועצימ חכמה׃
- הונ מהבל ימעט וקבץ על־יד ירבה׃
- תוחלת ממשכה מחלה־לב ועץ חיים תאוה באה׃

- Filius sapiens doctrina patris, qui autem illusor est non audit cum arguitur.
- De fructu oris sui homo satiabitur bonis, anima autem prævaricatorum iniqua.
- Qui custodit os suum custodit animam suam ; qui autem inconsideratus est ad loquendum, sentiet mala.
- Vult et non vult piger ; anima autem operantium impinguabitur.
- Verbum mendax justus detestabitur ; impius autem confundit, et confundetur.
- Justitia custodit innocentis viam, impietas autem peccatorem supplantat.
- Est quasi dives, cum nihil habeat, et est quasi pauper, cum in multis divitiis sit.
- Redemptio animæ viri divitiæ suæ ; qui autem pauper est, increpationem non sustinet.
- Lux justorum lætificat, lucerna autem impiorum extinguetur.
- Inter superbos semper jurgia sunt ; qui autem agunt omnia cum consilio, reguntur sapientia.

- A wise son heareth his father's instruction: but a scorner heareth not rebuke.
- A man shall eat good by the fruit of his mouth: but the soul of the transgressors shall eat violence.
- He that keepeth his mouth keepeth his life: but he that openeth wide his lips shall have destruction.
- The soul of the sluggard desireth, and hath nothing: but the soul of the diligent shall be made fat.
- A righteous man hateth lying: but a wicked man is loathsome, and cometh to shame.
- Righteousness keepeth him that is upright in the way: but wickedness overthroweth the sinner.
- There is that maketh himself rich, yet hath nothing: there is that maketh himself poor, yet hath great riches.
