Hebrew כי הורדוס תפש את יוחנן ויאסרהו וישימהו בבית הסהר בגלל הורודיה אשת פילפוס אחיו׃
Greek ο γαρ ηρωδης κρατησας τον ιωαννην εδησεν και εν φυλακη απεθετο δια ηρωδιαδα την γυναικα φιλιππου του αδελφου αυτου
Latin Herodes enim tenuit Joannem, et alligavit eum : et posuit in carcerem propter Herodiadem uxorem fratris sui.
