Leviticus 10 - Versions
Leviticus 10 Text (WEB)
  1. Nadab and Abihu, the sons of Aaron, each took his censer, and put fire in it, and laid incense on it, and offered strange fire before Yahweh, which he had not commanded them.
  2. And fire came forth from before Yahweh, and devoured them, and they died before Yahweh.
  3. Then Moses said to Aaron, "This is what Yahweh spoke of, saying, 'I will show myself holy to those who come near me, and before all the people I will be glorified.'" Aaron held his peace.
  4. Moses called Mishael and Elzaphan, the sons of Uzziel the uncle of Aaron, and said to them, "Draw near, carry your brothers from before the sanctuary out of the camp."
  5. So they drew near, and carried them in their coats out of the camp, as Moses had said.
  6. Moses said to Aaron, and to Eleazar and to Ithamar, his sons, "Don't let the hair of your heads go loose, neither tear your clothes; that you don't die, and that he not be angry with all the congregation: but let your brothers, the whole house of Israel, bewail the burning which Yahweh has kindled.
  7. You shall not go out from the door of the Tent of Meeting, lest you die; for the anointing oil of Yahweh is on you." They did according to the word of Moses.
  8. Yahweh spoke to Aaron, saying,
  9. "Drink no wine nor strong drink, you, nor your sons with you, when you go into the Tent of Meeting, that you don't die: it shall be a statute forever throughout your generations:
  10. and that you are to make a distinction between the holy and the common, and between the unclean and the clean;
  11. and that you are to teach the children of Israel all the statutes which Yahweh has spoken to them by Moses."
  12. Moses spoke to Aaron, and to Eleazar and to Ithamar, his sons who were left, "Take the meal offering that remains of the offerings of Yahweh made by fire, and eat it without yeast beside the altar; for it is most holy;
  13. and you shall eat it in a holy place, because it is your portion, and your sons' portion, of the offerings of Yahweh made by fire: for so I am commanded.
  14. The waved breast and the heaved thigh you shall eat in a clean place, you, and your sons, and your daughters with you: for they are given as your portion, and your sons' portion, out of the sacrifices of the peace offerings of the children of Israel.
  15. The heaved thigh and the waved breast they shall bring with the offerings made by fire of the fat, to wave it for a wave offering before Yahweh: and it shall be yours, and your sons' with you, as a portion forever; as Yahweh has commanded."
  16. Moses diligently inquired about the goat of the sin offering, and, behold, it was burned: and he was angry with Eleazar and with Ithamar, the sons of Aaron who were left, saying,
  17. "Why haven't you eaten the sin offering in the place of the sanctuary, since it is most holy, and he has given it you to bear the iniquity of the congregation, to make atonement for them before Yahweh?
  18. Behold, its blood was not brought into the inner part of the sanctuary: you certainly should have eaten it in the sanctuary, as I commanded."
  19. Aaron spoke to Moses, "Behold, this day they have offered their sin offering and their burnt offering before Yahweh; and such things as these have happened to me: and if I had eaten the sin offering today, would it have been pleasing in the sight of Yahweh?"
  20. When Moses heard that, it was pleasing in his sight.
Leviticus 10 Text (Hebrew)
  1. ויקחו בני־אהרן נדב ואביהוא איש מחתתו ויתנו בהן אש וישימו עליה קטרת ויקרבו לפני יהוה אש זרה אשר לא צוה אתם׃
  2. ותצא אש מלפני יהוה ותאכל אותם וימתו לפני יהוה׃
  3. ויאמר משה אל־אהרן הוא אשר־דבר יהוה לאמר בקרבי אקדש ועל־פני כל־העם אכבד וידם אהרן׃
  4. ויקרא משה אל־מישאל ואל אלצפן בני עזיאל דד אהרן ויאמר אלהם קרבו שאו את־אחיכם מאת פני־הקדש אל־מחוץ למחנה׃
  5. ויקרבו וישאם בכתנתם אל־מחוץ למחנה כאשר דבר משה׃
  6. ויאמר משה אל־אהרן ולאלעזר ולאיתמר בניו ראשיכם אל־תפרעו ובגדיכם לא־תפרמו ולא תמתו ועל כל־העדה יקצף ואחיכם כל־בית ישראל יבכו את־השרפה אשר שרף יהוה׃
  7. ומפתח אהל מועד לא תצאו פן־תמתו כי־שמן משחת יהוה עליכם ויעשו כדבר משה׃ ף
  8. וידבר יהוה אל־אהרן לאמר׃
  9. יין ושכר אל־תשת אתה ובניך אתך בבאכם אל־אהל מועד ולא תמתו חקת עולם לדרתיכם׃
  10. ולהבדיל בין הקדש ובין החל ובין הטמא ובין הטהור׃
  11. ולהורת את־בני ישראל את כל־החקים אשר דבר יהוה אליהם ביד־משה׃ ף
  12. וידבר משה אל־אהרן ואל אלעזר ואל־איתמר בניו הנותרים קחו את־המנחה הנותרת מאשי יהוה ואכלוה מצות אצל המזבח כי קדש קדשים הוא׃
  13. ואכלתם אתה במקום קדש כי חקך וחק־בניך הוא מאשי יהוה כי־כן צויתי׃
  14. ואת חזה התנופה ואת שוק התרומה תאכלו במקום טהור אתה ובניך ובנתיך אתך כי־חקך וחק־בניך נתנו מזבחי שלמי בני ישראל׃
  15. שוק התרומה וחזה התנופה על אשי החלבים יביאו להניף תנופה לפני יהוה והיה לך ולבניך אתך לחק־עולם כאשר צוה יהוה׃
  16. ואת שעיר החטאת דרש דרש משה והנה שרף ויקצף על־אלעזר ועל־איתמר בני אהרן הנותרם לאמר׃
  17. מדוע לא־אכלתם את־החטאת במקום הקדש כי קדש קדשים הוא ואתה נתן לכם לשאת את־עון העדה לכפר עליהם לפני יהוה׃
  18. הן לא־הובא את־דמה אל־הקדש פנימה אכול תאכלו אתה בקדש כאשר צויתי׃
  19. וידבר אהרן אל־משה הן היום הקריבו את־חטאתם ואת־עלתם לפני יהוה ותקראנה אתי כאלה ואכלתי חטאת היום הייטב בעיני יהוה׃

  1. και λαβοντες οι δυο υιοι ααρων ναδαβ και αβιουδ εκαστος το πυρειον αυτου επεθηκαν επ' αυτο πυρ και επεβαλον επ' αυτο θυμιαμα και προσηνεγκαν εναντι κυριου πυρ αλλοτριον ο ου προσεταξεν κυριος
  2. και εξηλθεν πυρ παρα κυριου και κατεφαγεν αυτους και απεθανον εναντι
  3. και ειπεν μωυσης προς ααρων τουτο εστιν ο ειπεν κυριος λεγων εν τοις εγγιζουσιν μοι αγιασθησομαι και εν παση τη συναγωγη δοξασθησομαι και κατενυχθη
  4. και εκαλεσεν μωυσης τον μισαδαι και τον ελισαφαν υιους οζιηλ υιους του αδελφου του πατρος ααρων και ειπεν αυτοις προσελθατε και αρατε τους αδελφους υμων εκ προσωπου των αγιων εξω της
  5. και προσηλθον και ηραν εν τοις χιτωσιν αυτων εξω της παρεμβολης ον τροπον ειπεν
  6. και ειπεν μωυσης προς ααρων και ελεαζαρ και ιθαμαρ τους υιους αυτου τους καταλελειμμενους την κεφαλην υμων ουκ αποκιδαρωσετε και τα ιματια υμων ου διαρρηξετε ινα μη αποθανητε και επι πασαν την συναγωγην εσται θυμος οι αδελφοι υμων πας ο οικος ισραηλ κλαυσονται τον εμπυρισμον ον ενεπυρισθησαν υπο
  7. και απο της θυρας της σκηνης του μαρτυριου ουκ εξελευσεσθε ινα μη αποθανητε το γαρ ελαιον της χρισεως το παρα κυριου εφ' υμιν και εποιησαν κατα το ρημα
  8. και ελαλησεν κυριος τω ααρων
  9. οινον και σικερα ου πιεσθε συ και οι υιοι σου μετα σου ηνικα αν εισπορευησθε εις την σκηνην του μαρτυριου η προσπορευομενων υμων προς το θυσιαστηριον και ου μη αποθανητε νομιμον αιωνιον εις τας γενεας
  10. διαστειλαι ανα μεσον των αγιων και των βεβηλων και ανα μεσον των ακαθαρτων και των
  11. και συμβιβασεις τους υιους ισραηλ παντα τα νομιμα α ελαλησεν κυριος προς αυτους δια χειρος
  12. και ειπεν μωυσης προς ααρων και προς ελεαζαρ και ιθαμαρ τους υιους ααρων τους καταλειφθεντας λαβετε την θυσιαν την καταλειφθεισαν απο των καρπωματων κυριου και φαγεσθε αζυμα παρα το θυσιαστηριον αγια αγιων
  13. και φαγεσθε αυτην εν τοπω αγιω νομιμον γαρ σοι εστιν και νομιμον τοις υιοις σου τουτο απο των καρπωματων κυριου ουτω γαρ εντεταλται
  14. και το στηθυνιον του αφορισματος και τον βραχιονα του αφαιρεματος φαγεσθε εν τοπω αγιω συ και οι υιοι σου και ο οικος σου μετα σου νομιμον γαρ σοι και νομιμον τοις υιοις σου εδοθη απο των θυσιων του σωτηριου των υιων
  15. τον βραχιονα του αφαιρεματος και το στηθυνιον του αφορισματος επι των καρπωματων των στεατων προσοισουσιν αφορισμα αφορισαι εναντι κυριου και εσται σοι και τοις υιοις σου και ταις θυγατρασιν σου μετα σου νομιμον αιωνιον ον τροπον συνεταξεν κυριος τω
  16. και τον χιμαρον τον περι της αμαρτιας ζητων εξεζητησεν μωυσης και οδε ενεπεπυριστο και εθυμωθη μωυσης επι ελεαζαρ και ιθαμαρ τους υιους ααρων τους καταλελειμμενους
  17. δια τι ουκ εφαγετε το περι της αμαρτιας εν τοπω αγιω οτι γαρ αγια αγιων εστιν τουτο εδωκεν υμιν φαγειν ινα αφελητε την αμαρτιαν της συναγωγης και εξιλασησθε περι αυτων εναντι
  18. ου γαρ εισηχθη του αιματος αυτου εις το αγιον κατα προσωπον εσω φαγεσθε αυτο εν τοπω αγιω ον τροπον μοι συνεταξεν
  19. και ελαλησεν ααρων προς μωυσην λεγων ει σημερον προσαγειοχασιν τα περι της αμαρτιας αυτων και τα ολοκαυτωματα αυτων εναντι κυριου και συμβεβηκεν μοι ταυτα και φαγομαι τα περι της αμαρτιας σημερον μη αρεστον εσται

  1. Arreptisque Nadab et Abiu filii Aaron thuribulis, posuerunt ignem, et incensum desuper, offerentes coram Domino ignem alienum : quod eis præceptum non erat.
  2. Egressusque ignis a Domino, devoravit eos, et mortui sunt coram Domino.
  3. Dixitque Moyses ad Aaron : Hoc est quod locutus est Dominus : Sanctificabor in iis qui appropinquant mihi, et in conspectu omnis populi glorificabor. Quod audiens tacuit Aaron.
  4. Vocatis autem Moyses Misaële et Elisaphan filiis Oziel, patrui Aaron, ait ad eos : Ite, et tollite fratres vestros de conspectu sanctuarii, et asportate extra castra.
  5. Confestimque pergentes, tulerunt eos sicut jacebant, vestitos lineis tunicis, et ejecerunt foras, ut sibi fuerat imperatum.
  6. Locutusque est Moyses ad Aaron, et ad Eleazar, et Ithamar, filios ejus : Capita vestra nolite nudare, et vestimenta nolite scindere, ne forte moriamini, et super omnem cœtum oriatur indignatio. Fratres vestri, et omnis domus Israël, plangant incendium quod Dominus suscitavit :
  7. vos autem non egrediemini fores tabernaculi, alioquin peribitis : oleum quippe sanctæ unctionis est super vos. Qui fecerunt omnia juxta præceptum Moysi.
  8. Dixit quoque Dominus ad Aaron :
  9. Vinum, et omne quod inebriare potest, non bibetis tu et filii tui, quando intratis in tabernaculum testimonii, ne moriamini : quia præceptum sempiternum est in generationes vestras :
  10. et ut habeatis scientiam discernendi inter sanctum et profanum, inter pollutum et mundum ;
  11. doceatisque filios Israël omnia legitima mea quæ locutus est Dominus ad eos per manum Moysi.
  12. Locutusque est Moyses ad Aaron, et ad Eleazar, et Ithamar, filios ejus, qui erant residui : Tollite sacrificium, quod remansit de oblatione Domini, et comedite illud absque fermento juxta altare, quia Sanctum sanctorum est.

  14. Pectusculum quoque quod oblatum est, et armum qui separatus est, edetis in loco mundissimo tu et filii tui, et filiæ tuæ tecum : tibi enim ac liberis tuis reposita sunt de hostiis salutaribus filiorum Israël :

  6. And Moses said unto Aaron, and unto Eleazar and unto Ithamar, his sons, Uncover not your heads, neither rend your clothes; lest ye die, and lest wrath come upon all the people: but let your brethren, the whole house of Israel, bewail the burning which the LORD hath kindled.
  7. And ye shall not go out from the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, lest ye die: for the anointing oil of the LORD is upon you. And they did according to the word of Moses.
  8. And the LORD spake unto Aaron, saying,
  9. Do not drink wine nor strong drink, thou, nor thy sons with thee, when ye go into the tabernacle of the congregation, lest ye die: it shall be a statute for ever throughout your generations:
  10. And that ye may put difference between holy and unholy, and between unclean and clean;
  11. And that ye may teach the children of Israel all the statutes which the LORD hath spoken unto them by the hand of Moses.
  12. And Moses spake unto Aaron, and unto Eleazar and unto Ithamar, his sons that were left, Take the meat offering that remaineth of the offerings of the LORD made by fire, and eat it without leaven beside the altar: for it is most holy:
  13. And ye shall eat it in the holy place, because it is thy due, and thy sons' due, of the sacrifices of the LORD made by fire: for so I am commanded.
  14. And the wave breast and heave shoulder shall ye eat in a clean place; thou, and thy sons, and thy daughters with thee: for they be thy due, and thy sons' due, which are given out of the sacrifices of peace offerings of the children of Israel.
  15. The heave shoulder and the wave breast shall they bring with the offerings made by fire of the fat, to wave it for a wave offering before the LORD; and it shall be thine, and thy sons' with thee, by a statute for ever; as the LORD hath commanded.
  16. And Moses diligently sought the goat of the sin offering, and, behold, it was burnt: and he was angry with Eleazar and Ithamar, the sons of Aaron which were left alive, saying,
  17. Wherefore have ye not eaten the sin offering in the holy place, seeing it is most holy, and God hath given it you to bear the iniquity of the congregation, to make atonement for them before the LORD?
  18. Behold, the blood of it was not brought in within the holy place: ye should indeed have eaten it in the holy place, as I commanded.
  19. And Aaron said unto Moses, Behold, this day have they offered their sin offering and their burnt offering before the LORD; and such things have befallen me: and if I had eaten the sin offering to day, should it have been accepted in the sight of the LORD?
  20. And when Moses heard that, he was content.
