There are numerous ways to communicate the idea of purpose in Koine Greek, using either the infinitive or subjunctive mood.
Expressing purpose with infinitive verbs
Purpose may expressed using an infinitive verb in the following ways
- Using the infinitive alone
- Using the infinitive preceded by the genitive article του
- Using an articular infinitive with either εις or προς
Expressing purpose with subjunctive verbs
Purpose may be expressed using a subjunctive verb, preceded by the word `ινα
