Commentary

This passage from the Bible sums up Christianity. The words are

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

The passage comes from the gospel according to John. Jesus has just been talking to one of the Jewish religious leaders, Nicodemus, about the need to be born again.
