- Zedekiah was twenty-one years old when he began to reign; and he reigned eleven years in Jerusalem: and his mother's name was Hamutal the daughter of Jeremiah of Libnah.
- He did that which was evil in the sight of Yahweh, according to all that Jehoiakim had done.
- For through the anger of Yahweh did it happen in Jerusalem and Judah, until he had cast them out from his presence. Zedekiah rebelled against the king of Babylon.
- It happened in the ninth year of his reign, in the tenth month, in the tenth day of the month, that Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came, he and all his army, against Jerusalem, and encamped against it; and they built forts against it round about.
- So the city was besieged to the eleventh year of king Zedekiah.
- In the fourth month, in the ninth day of the month, the famine was severe in the city, so that there was no bread for the people of the land.
- Then a breach was made in the city, and all the men of war fled, and went forth out of the city by night by the way of the gate between the two walls, which was by the king's garden; (now the Chaldeans were against the city all around;) and they went toward the Arabah.
- But the army of the Chaldeans pursued after the king, and overtook Zedekiah in the plains of Jericho; and all his army was scattered from him.
- Then they took the king, and carried him up to the king of Babylon to Riblah in the land of Hamath; and he gave judgment on him.
- The king of Babylon killed the sons of Zedekiah before his eyes: he killed also all the princes of Judah in Riblah.
- He put out the eyes of Zedekiah; and the king of Babylon bound him in fetters, and carried him to Babylon, and put him in prison until the day of his death.
- Now in the fifth month, in the tenth day of the month, which was the nineteenth year of king Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon, came Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard, who stood before the king of Babylon, into Jerusalem:
- and he burned the house of Yahweh, and the king's house; and all the houses of Jerusalem, even every great house, burned he with fire.
- All the army of the Chaldeans, who were with the captain of the guard, broke down all the walls of Jerusalem all around.
- Then Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard carried away captive of the poorest of the people, and the residue of the people who were left in the city, and those who fell away, who fell to the king of Babylon, and the residue of the multitude.
- But Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard left of the poorest of the land to be vineyard keepers and farmers.
- The pillars of brass that were in the house of Yahweh, and the bases and the bronze sea that were in the house of Yahweh, did the Chaldeans break in pieces, and carried all the brass of them to Babylon.
- The pots also, and the shovels, and the snuffers, and the basins, and the spoons, and all the vessels of brass with which they ministered, took they away.
- The cups, and the fire pans, and the basins, and the pots, and the lampstands, and the spoons, and the bowls--that which was of gold, in gold, and that which was of silver, in silver,--the captain of the guard took away.
- The two pillars, the one sea, and the twelve bronze bulls that were under the bases, which king Solomon had made for the house of Yahweh. The brass of all these vessels was without weight.
- As for the pillars, the height of the one pillar was eighteen cubits; and a line of twelve cubits did compass it; and its thickness was four fingers: it was hollow.
- A capital of brass was on it; and the height of the one capital was five cubits, with network and pomegranates on the capital all around, all of brass: and the second pillar also had like these, and pomegranates.
- There were ninety-six pomegranates on the sides; all the pomegranates were one hundred on the network all around.
- The captain of the guard took Seraiah the chief priest, and Zephaniah the second priest, and the three keepers of the threshold:
- and out of the city he took an officer who was set over the men of war; and seven men of those who saw the king's face, who were found in the city; and the scribe of the captain of the army, who mustered the people of the land; and sixty men of the people of the land, who were found in the midst of the city.
- Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard took them, and brought them to the king of Babylon to Riblah.
- The king of Babylon struck them, and put them to death at Riblah in the land of Hamath. So Judah was carried away captive out of his land.
- This is the people whom Nebuchadnezzar carried away captive: in the seventh year three thousand twenty-three Jews;
- in the eighteenth year of Nebuchadnezzar he carried away captive from Jerusalem eight hundred thirty-two persons;
- in the three and twentieth year of Nebuchadnezzar Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard carried away captive of the Jews seven hundred forty-five persons: all the persons were four thousand and six hundred.
- It happened in the seven and thirtieth year of the captivity of Jehoiachin king of Judah, in the twelfth month, in the five and twentieth day of the month, that Evilmerodach king of Babylon, in the [first] year of his reign, lifted up the head of Jehoiachin king of Judah, and brought him forth out of prison;
- and he spoke kindly to him, and set his throne above the throne of the kings who were with him in Babylon,
- and changed his prison garments. [Jehoiachin] ate bread before him continually all the days of his life:
- and for his allowance, there was a continual allowance given him by the king of Babylon, every day a portion until the day of his death, all the days of his life.

- בן־עשרים ואחת שנה צדקיהו במלכו ואחת עשרה שנה מלך בירושלם ושם אמו בת־ירמיהו מלבנה׃
- ויעש הרע בעיני יהוה ככל אשר־עשה יהויקים׃
- כי על־אף יהוה היתה בירושלם ויהודה עד־השליכו אותם מעל פניו וימרד צדקיהו במלך בבל׃
- ויהי בשנה התשעית למלכו בחדש העשירי בעשור לחדש בא נבוכדראצר מלך־בבל הוא וכל־חילו על־ירושלם ויחנו עליה ויבנו עליה דיק סביב׃
- ותבא העיר במצור עד עשתי עשרה שנה למלך צדקיהו׃
- בחדש הרביעי בתשעה לחדש ויחזק הרעב בעיר ולא־היה לחם לעם הארץ׃
- ותבקע העיר וכל־אנשי המלחמה יברחו ויצאו מהעיר לילה דרך שער בין־החמתים אשר על־גן המלך וכשדים על־העיר סביב וילכו דרך הערבה׃
- וירדפו חיל־כשדים אחרי המלך וישיגו את־צדקיהו בערבת ירחו וכל־חילו נפצו מעליו׃
- ויתפשו את־המלך ויעלו אתו אל־מלך בבל רבלתה בארץ חמת וידבר אתו משפטים׃
- וישחט מלך־בבל את־בני צדקיהו לעיניו וגם את־כל־שרי יהודה שחט ברבלתה׃
- ואת־עיני צדקיהו עור ויאסרהו בנחשתים ויבאהו מלך־בבל בבלה ויתנהו ־ ־הפקדת עד־יום מותו׃
- ובחדש החמישי בעשור לחדש היא שנת תשע־עשרה שנה למלך נבוכדראצר מלך־בבל בא נבוזראדן רב־טבחים עמד לפני מלך־בבל בירושלם׃
- וישרף את־בית־יהוה ואת־בית המלך ואת כל־בתי ירושלם ואת־כל־בית הגדול שרף באש׃
- ואת־כל־חמות ירושלם סביב נתצו כל־חיל כשדים אשר את־רב־טבחים׃
- ומדלות העם ואת־יתר העם הנשארים בעיר ואת־הנפלים אשר נפלו אל־מלך בבל ואת יתר האמון הגלה נבוזראדן רב־טבחים׃
- ומדלות הארץ השאיר נבוזראדן רב־טבחים לכרמים וליגבים׃
- ואת־עמודי הנחשת אשר לבית־יהוה ואת־המכנות ואת־ים הנחשת אשר בבית־יהוה שברו כשדים וישאו את־כל־נחשתם בבלה׃
- ואת־הסרות ואת־היעים ואת־המזמרות ואת־המזרקת ואת־הכפות ואת כל־כלי הנחשת אשר־ישרתו בהם לקחו׃
- ואת־הספים ואת־המחתות ואת־המזרקות ואת־הסירות ואת־המנרות ואת־הכפות ואת־המנקיות אשר זהב זהב ואשר־כסף כסף לקח רב־טבחים׃
- העמודים שנים הים אחד והבקר שנים־עשר נחשת אשר־תחת המכנות אשר עשה המלך שלמה לבית יהוה לא־היה משקל לנחשתם כל־הכלים האלה׃
- והעמודים שמנה עשרה אמה העמד האחד וחוט שתים־עשרה אמה יסבנו ועביו ארבע אצבעות נבוב׃
- וכתרת עליו נחשת וקומת הכתרת האחת חמש אמות ושבכה ורמונים על־הכותרת סביב הכל נחשת וכאלה לעמוד השני ורמונים׃
- ויהיו הרמנים תשעים וששה רוחה כל־הרמונים מאה על־השבכה סביב׃
- ויקח רב־טבחים את־שריה כהן הראש ואת־צפניה כהן המשנה ואת־שלשת שמרי הסף׃
- ומן־העיר לקח סריס אחד אשר־היה פקיד על־אנשי המלחמה ושבעה אנשים מראי פני־המלך אשר נמצאו בעיר ואת ספר שר הצבא המצבא את־עם הארץ וששים איש מעם הארץ הנמצאים בתוך העיר׃
- ויקח אותם נבוזראדן רב־טבחים וילך אותם אל־מלך בבל רבלתה׃
- ויכה אותם מלך בבל וימתם ברבלה בארץ חמת ויגל יהודה מעל אדמתו׃
- זה העם אשר הגלה נבוכדראצר בשנת־שבע יהודים שלשת אלפים ועשרים ושלשה׃
- בשנת שמונה עשרה לנבוכדראצר מירושלם נפש שמנה מאות שלשים ושנים׃
- בשנת שלש ועשרים לנבוכדראצר הגלה נבוזראדן רב־טבחים יהודים נפש שבע מאות ארבעים וחמשה כל־נפש ארבעת אלפים ושש מאות׃ ף
- ויהי בשלשים ושבע שנה לגלות יהויכן מלך־יהודה בשנים עשר חדש בעשרים וחמשה לחדש נשא אויל מרדך מלך בבל בשנת מלכתו את־ראש יהויכין מלך־יהודה ויצא אותו מבית ׃
- וידבר אתו טבות ויתן את־כסאו ממעל לכסא אשר אתו בבבל׃
- ושנה את בגדי כלאו ואכל לחם לפניו תמיד כל־ימי חיו׃
- וארחתו ארחת תמיד נתנה־לו מאת מלך־בבל דבר־יום ביומו עד־יום מותו כל ימי חייו׃

- Filius viginti et unius anni erat Sedecias cum regnare cœpisset, et undecim annis regnavit in Jerusalem. Et nomen matris ejus Amital, filia Jeremiæ, de Lobna.
- Et fecit malum in oculis Domini, juxta omnia quæ fecerat Joakim,
- quoniam furor Domini erat in Jerusalem et in Juda, usquequo projiceret eos a facie sua : et recessit Sedecias a rege Babylonis.
- Factum est autem in anno nono regni ejus, in mense decimo, decima mensis, venit Nabuchodonosor rex Babylonis, ipse et omnis exercitus ejus, adversus Jerusalem : et obsederunt eam, et ædificaverunt contra eam munitiones in circuitu.
- Et fuit civitas obsessa usque ad undecimum annum regis Sedeciæ.
- Mense autem quarto, nona mensis, obtinuit fames civitatem, et non erant alimenta populo terræ.
- Et dirupta est civitas, et omnes viri bellatores ejus fugerunt, exieruntque de civitate nocte, per viam portæ quæ est inter duos muros, et ducit ad hortum regis, Chaldæis obsidentibus urbem in gyro, et abierunt per viam quæ ducit in eremum.
- Persecutus est autem Chadæorum exercitus regem, et apprehenderunt Sedeciam in deserto quod est juxta Jericho : et omnis comitatus ejus diffugit ab eo.
- Cumque comprehendissent regem, adduxerunt eum ad regem Babylonis in Reblatha, quæ est in terra Emath, et locutus est ad eum judicia.
- Et jugulavit rex Babylonis filios Sedeciæ in oculis ejus, sed et omnes principes Juda occidit in Reblatha.
- Et oculos Sedeciæ eruit, et vinxit eum compedibus, et adduxit eum rex Babylonis in Babylonem, et posuit eum in domo carceris usque ad diem mortis ejus.
- In mense autem quinto, decima mensis, ipse est annus nonusdecimus Nabuchodonosor regis Babylonis, venit Nabuzardan, princeps militiæ, qui stabat coram rege Babylonis, in Jerusalem,
- et incendit domum Domini, et domum regis, et omnes domos Jerusalem, et omnem domum magnam igni combussit :
- et totum murum Jerusalem per circuitum destruxit cunctus exercitus Chaldæorum, qui erat cum magistro militiæ.
- De pauperibus autem populi et de reliquo vulgo, quod remanserat in civitate, et de perfugis qui transfugerant ad regem Babylonis, et ceteros de multitudine transtulit Nabuzardan, princeps militiæ.
- De pauperibus vero terræ reliquit Nabuzardan, princeps militiæ, vinitores et agricolas.
- Columnas quoque æreas quæ erant in domo Domini, et bases, et mare æneum, quod erat in domo Domini, confregerunt Chaldæi, et tulerunt omne æs eorum in Babylonem,
- et lebetes, et creagras, et psalteria, et phialas, et mortariola, et omnia vasa ærea quæ in ministerio fuerant, tulerunt :
- et hydrias, et thymiamateria, et urceos, et pelves, et candelabra, et mortaria, et cyathos, quotquot aurea, aurea, et quotquot argentea, argentea, tulit magister militiæ :
- et columnas duas, et mare unum, et vitulos duodecim æreos qui erant sub basibus quas fecerat rex Salomon in domo Domini. Non erat pondus æris omnium horum vasorum.
- De columnis autem decem et octo cubiti altitudinis erant in columna una, et funiculus duodecim cubitorum circuibat eam : porro grossitudo ejus quatuor digitorum, et intrinsecus cava erat.
- Et capitella super utramque ærea : altitudo capitelli unius quinque cubitorum, et retiacula et malogranata super coronam in circuitu, omnia ærea : similiter columnæ secundæ, et malogranata.
- Et fuerunt malogranata nonaginta sex dependentia : et omnia malogranata centum, retiaculis circumdabantur.
- Et tulit magister militiæ Saraiam sacerdotem primum, et Sophoniam sacerdotem secundum, et tres custodes vestibuli :
- et de civitate tulit eunuchum unum, qui erat præpositus super viros bellatores : et septem viros de his qui videbant faciem regis, qui inventi sunt in civitate : et scribam principem militum, qui probabat tyrones : et sexaginta viros de populo terræ, qui inventi sunt in medio civitatis.

- Now in the fifth month, in the tenth day of the month, which was the nineteenth year of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, came Nebuzar-adan, captain of the guard, which served the king of Babylon, into Jerusalem,
- And burned the house of the LORD, and the king's house; and all the houses of Jerusalem, and all the houses of the great men, burned he with fire:
- And all the army of the Chaldeans, that were with the captain of the guard, brake down all the walls of Jerusalem round about.
- Then Nebuzar-adan the captain of the guard carried away captive certain of the poor of the people, and the residue of the people that remained in the city, and those that fell away, that fell to the king of Babylon, and the rest of the multitude.
- But Nebuzar-adan the captain of the guard left certain of the poor of the land for vinedressers and for husbandmen.
- Also the pillars of brass that were in the house of the LORD, and the bases, and the brasen sea that was in the house of the LORD, the Chaldeans brake, and carried all the brass of them to Babylon.
- The caldrons also, and the shovels, and the snuffers, and the bowls, and the spoons, and all the vessels of brass wherewith they ministered, took they away.
- And the basons, and the firepans, and the bowls, and the caldrons, and the candlesticks, and the spoons, and the cups; that which was of gold in gold, and that which was of silver in silver, took the captain of the guard away.
- The two pillars, one sea, and twelve brasen bulls that were under the bases, which king Solomon had made in the house of the LORD: the brass of all these vessels was without weight.
- And concerning the pillars, the height of one pillar was eighteen cubits; and a fillet of twelve cubits did compass it; and the thickness thereof was four fingers: it was hollow.
- And a chapiter of brass was upon it; and the height of one chapiter was five cubits, with network and pomegranates upon the chapiters round about, all of brass. The second pillar also and the pomegranates were like unto these.
- And there were ninety and six pomegranates on a side; and all the pomegranates upon the network were an hundred round about.
- And the captain of the guard took Seraiah the chief priest, and Zephaniah the second priest, and the three keepers of the door:
- He took also out of the city an eunuch, which had the charge of the men of war; and seven men of them that were near the king's person, which were found in the city; and the principal scribe of the host, who mustered the people of the land; and threescore men of the people of the land, that were found in the midst of the city.
- So Nebuzar-adan the captain of the guard took them, and brought them to the king of Babylon to Riblah.
- And the king of Babylon smote them, and put them to death in Riblah in the land of Hamath. Thus Judah was carried away captive out of his own land.
- This is the people whom Nebuchadrezzar carried away captive: in the seventh year three thousand Jews and three and twenty:
- In the eighteenth year of Nebuchadrezzar he carried away captive from Jerusalem eight hundred thirty and two persons:
- In the three and twentieth year of Nebuchadrezzar Nebuzar-adan the captain of the guard carried away captive of the Jews seven hundred forty and five persons: all the persons were four thousand and six hundred.
- And it came to pass in the seven and thirtieth year of the captivity of Jehoiachin king of Judah, in the twelfth month, in the five and twentieth day of the month, that Evil-merodach king of Babylon in the first year of his reign lifted up the head of Jehoiachin king of Judah, and brought him forth out of prison,
- And spake kindly unto him, and set his throne above the throne of the kings that were with him in Babylon,
- And changed his prison garments: and he did continually eat bread before him all the days of his life.
- And for his diet, there was a continual diet given him of the king of Babylon, every day a portion until the day of his death, all the days of his life.
