  1. The message that Jeremiah the prophet spoke to Baruch the son of Neriah, when he wrote these words in a book at the mouth of Jeremiah, in the fourth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah, saying,
  2. Thus says Yahweh, the God of Israel, to you, Baruch:
  3. You said, Woe is me now! for Yahweh has added sorrow to my pain; I am weary with my groaning, and I find no rest.
  4. You shall tell him, Thus says Yahweh: Behold, that which I have built will I break down, and that which I have planted I will pluck up; and this in the whole land.
  5. Do you seek great things for yourself? Don't seek them; for, behold, I will bring evil on all flesh, says Yahweh; but your life will I give to you for a prey in all places where you go.

  1. הדבר אשר דבר ירמיהו הנביא אל־ברוך בן־נריה בכתבו את־הדברים האלה על־ספר מפי ירמיהו בשנה הרבעית ליהויקים בן־יאשיהו מלך יהודה לאמר׃ ס
  2. כה־אמר יהוה אלהי ישראל עליך ברוך׃
  3. אמרת אוי־נא לי כי־יסף יהוה יגון על־מכאבי יגעתי באנחתי ומנוחה לא מצאתי׃ ס
  4. כה תאמר אליו כה אמר יהוה הנה אשר־בניתי אני הרס ואת אשר־נטעתי אני נתש ואת־כל־הארץ היא׃
  5. ואתה תבקש־לך גדלות אל־תבקש כי הנני מביא רעה על־כל־בשר נאם־יהוה ונתתי לך את־נפשך לשלל על כל־המקמות אשר תלך־שם׃ ס

  1. ο λογος ον ελαλησεν ιερεμιας ο προφητης προς βαρουχ υιον νηριου οτε εγραφεν τους λογους τουτους εν τω βιβλιω απο στοματος ιερεμιου εν τω ενιαυτω τω τεταρτω τω ιωακιμ υιω ιωσια βασιλεως
  2. ουτως ειπεν κυριος επι σοι
  3. οτι ειπας οιμμοι οιμμοι οτι προσεθηκεν κυριος κοπον επι πονον μοι εκοιμηθην εν στεναγμοις αναπαυσιν ουχ
  4. ειπον αυτω ουτως ειπεν κυριος ιδου ους εγω ωκοδομησα εγω καθαιρω και ους εγω εφυτευσα εγω
  5. και συ ζητεις σεαυτω μεγαλα μη ζητησης οτι ιδου εγω επαγω κακα επι πασαν σαρκα λεγει κυριος και δωσω την ψυχην σου εις ευρεμα εν παντι τοπω ου εαν βαδισης

  1. Verbum quod locutus est Jeremias propheta ad Baruch filium Neriæ, cum scripsisset verba hæc in libro ex ore Jeremiæ, anno quarto Joakim filii Josiæ regis Juda, dicens :
  2. Hæc dicit Dominus Deus Israël ad te, Baruch :
  3. Dixisti : Væ misero mihi ! quoniam addidit Dominus dolorem dolori meo : laboravi in gemitu meo, et requiem non inveni.
  4. Hæc dicit Dominus : Sic dices ad eum : Ecce quos ædificavi, ego destruo : et quos plantavi, ego evello, et universam terram hanc :
  5. et tu quæris tibi grandia ? Noli quærere, quia ecce ego adducam malum super omnem carnem, ait Dominus, et dabo tibi animam tuam in salutem in omnibus locis ad quæcumque perrexeris.

  2. Thus saith the LORD, the God of Israel, unto thee, O Baruch;
  3. Thou didst say, Woe is me now! for the LORD hath added grief to my sorrow; I fainted in my sighing, and I find no rest.
  4. Thus shalt thou say unto him, The LORD saith thus; Behold, that which I have built will I break down, and that which I have planted I will pluck up, even this whole land.
  5. And seekest thou great things for thyself? seek them not: for, behold, I will bring evil upon all flesh, saith the LORD: but thy life will I give unto thee for a prey in all places whither thou goest.
