Commentary
In the first chapter of Hosea, God calls Hosea to marry an adulterous wife. This wife and the children will be used as a symbol to the northern kingdom of Israel that they have been unfaithful to God.
- When Yahweh spoke at first by Hosea, Yahweh said to Hosea, "Go, take for yourself a wife of prostitution and children of unfaithfulness; for the land commits great adultery, forsaking Yahweh."
