- Now this is the history of the generations of the sons of Noah and of Shem, Ham, and Japheth. Sons were born to them after the flood.
- The sons of Japheth: Gomer, Magog, Madai, Javan, Tubal, Meshech, and Tiras.
- The sons of Gomer: Ashkenaz, Riphath, and Togarmah.
- The sons of Javan: Elishah, Tarshish, Kittim, and Dodanim.
- Of these were the islands of the nations divided in their lands, everyone after his language, after their families, in their nations.
- The sons of Ham: Cush, Mizraim, Put, and Canaan.
- The sons of Cush: Seba, Havilah, Sabtah, Raamah, and Sabteca. The sons of Raamah: Sheba and Dedan.
- Cush became the father of Nimrod. He began to be a mighty one in the earth.
- He was a mighty hunter before Yahweh. Therefore it is said, "Like Nimrod, a mighty hunter before Yahweh."
- The beginning of his kingdom was Babel, Erech, Accad, and Calneh, in the land of Shinar.
- Out of that land he went forth into Assyria, and built Nineveh, Rehoboth Ir, Calah,
- and Resen between Nineveh and Calah (the same is the great city).
- Mizraim became the father of Ludim, Anamim, Lehabim, Naphtuhim,
- Pathrusim, Casluhim (which the Philistines descended from), and Caphtorim.
- Canaan became the father of Sidon (his firstborn), Heth,
- the Jebusite, the Amorite, the Girgashite,
- the Hivite, the Arkite, the Sinite,
- the Arvadite, the Zemarite, and the Hamathite. Afterward the families of the Canaanites were spread abroad.
- The border of the Canaanites was from Sidon, as you go toward Gerar, to Gaza; as you go toward Sodom, Gomorrah, Admah, and Zeboiim, to Lasha.
- These are the sons of Ham, after their families, after their languages, in their lands, in their nations.
- To Shem, the father of all the children of Eber, the elder brother of Japheth, to him also were children born.
- The sons of Shem: Elam, Asshur, Arpachshad, Lud, and Aram.
- The sons of Aram: Uz, Hul, Gether, and Mash.
- Arpachshad became the father of Shelah. Shelah became the father of Eber.
- To Eber were born two sons. The name of the one was Peleg, for in his days the earth was divided. His brother's name was Joktan.
- Joktan became the father of Almodad, Sheleph, Hazarmaveth, Jerah,
- Hadoram, Uzal, Diklah,
- Obal, Abimael, Sheba,
- Ophir, Havilah, and Jobab. All these were the sons of Joktan.
- Their dwelling was from Mesha, as you go toward Sephar, the mountain of the east.
- These are the sons of Shem, after their families, after their languages, in their lands, after their nations.
- These are the families of the sons of Noah, after their generations, in their nations. Of these were the nations divided in the earth after the flood.

- ואלה תולדת בני־נח שם חם ויפת ויולדו להם בנים אחר המבול׃
- בני יפת גמר ומגוג ומדי ויון ותבל ומשך ותירס׃
- ובני גמר אשכנז וריפת ותגרמה׃
- ובני יון אלישה ותרשיש כתים ודדנים׃
- מאלה נפרדו איי הגוים בארצתם איש ללשנו למשפחתם בגויהם׃
- ובני חם כוש ומצרים ופוט וכנען׃
- ובני כוש סבא וחוילה וסבתה ורעמה וסבתכא ובני רעמה שבא ודדן׃
- וכוש ילד את־נמרד הוא החל להיות גבר בארץ׃
- הוא־היה גבר־ציד לפני יהוה על־כן יאמר כנמרד גבור ציד לפני יהוה׃
- ותהי ראשית ממלכתו בבל וארך ואכד וכלנה בארץ שנער׃
- מן־הארץ ההוא יצא אשור ויבן את־נינוה ואת־רחבת עיר ואת־כלח׃
- ואת־רסן בין נינוה ובין כלח הוא העיר הגדלה׃
- ומצרים ילד את־לודים ואת־ענמים ואת־להבים ואת־נפתחים׃
- ואת־פתרסים ואת־כסלחים אשר יצאו משם פלשתים ואת־כפתרים׃ ס
- וכנען ילד את־צידן בכרו ואת־חת׃
- ואת־היבוסי ואת־האמרי ואת הגרגשי׃
- ואת־החוי ואת־הערקי ואת־הסיני׃
- ואת־הארודי ואת־הצמרי ואת־החמתי ואחר נפצו משפחות הכנעני׃
- ויהי גבול הכנעני מצידן באכה גררה עד־עזה באכה סדמה ועמרה ואדמה וצבים עד־לשע׃
- אלה בני־חם למשפחתם ללשנתם בארצתם בגויהם׃ ס
- ולשם ילד גם־הוא אבי כל־בני־עבר אחי יפת הגדול׃
- בני שם עילם ואשור וארפכשד ולוד וארם׃
- ובני ארם עוץ וחול וגתר ומש׃
- וארפכשד ילד את־שלח ושלח ילד את־עבר׃
- ולעבר ילד שני בנים שם האחד פלג כי בימיו נפלגה הארץ ושם אחיו יקטן׃
- ויקטן ילד את־אלמודד ואת־שלף ואת־חצרמות ואת־ירח׃
- ואת־הדורם ואת־אוזל ואת־דקלה׃
- ואת־עובל ואת־אבימאל ואת־שבא׃
- ואת־אופר ואת־חוילה ואת־יובב כל־אלה בני יקטן׃
- ויהי מושבם ממשא באכה ספרה הר הקדם׃
- אלה בני־שם למשפחתם ללשנתם בארצתם לגויהם׃
- אלה משפחת בני־נח לתולדתם בגויהם ומאלה נפרדו הגוים בארץ אחר המבול׃ ף

- Filii Japheth : Gomer, et Magog, et Madai, et Javan, et Thubal, et Mosoch, et Thiras.
- Porro filii Gomer : Ascenez et Riphath et Thogorma.
- Filii autem Javan : Elisa et Tharsis, Cetthim et Dodanim.
- Ab his divisæ sunt insulæ gentium in regionibus suis, unusquisque secundum linguam suam et familias suas in nationibus suis.
- Filii autem Cham : Chus, et Mesraim, et Phuth, et Chanaan.
- Filii Chus : Saba, et Hevila, et Sabatha, et Regma, et Sabatacha. Filii Regma : Saba et Dadan.
- Porro Chus genuit Nemrod : ipse cœpit esse potens in terra,
- et erat robustus venator coram Domino. Ob hoc exivit proverbium : Quasi Nemrod robustus venator coram Domino.
- Fuit autem principium regni ejus Babylon, et Arach et Achad, et Chalanne, in terra Sennaar.
- De terra illa egressus est Assur, et ædificavit Niniven, et plateas civitatis, et Chale.
- Resen quoque inter Niniven et Chale : hæc est civitas magna.
- At vero Mesraim genuit Ludim, et Anamim et Laabim, Nephthuim,
- et Phetrusim, et Chasluim : de quibus egressi sunt Philisthiim et Caphtorim.
- Chanaan autem genuit Sidonem primogenitum suum. Hethæum,
- et Jebusæum, et Amorrhæum, Gergesæum,
- Hevæum, et Aracæum : Sinæum,
- et Aradium, Samaræum, et Amathæum : et post hæc disseminati sunt populi Chananæorum.
- Factique sunt termini Chanaan venientibus a Sidone Geraram usque Gazam, donec ingrediaris Sodomam et Gomorrham, et Adamam, et Seboim usque Lesa.
- Hi sunt filii Cham in cognationibus, et linguis, et generationibus, terrisque et gentibus suis.
- De Sem quoque nati sunt, patre omnium filiorum Heber, fratre Japheth majore.
- Filii Sem : Ælam, et Assur, et Arphaxad, et Lud, et Aram.
- Filii Aram : Us, et Hul, et Gether, et Mes.
- At vero Arphaxad genuit Sale, de quo ortus est Heber.
- Natique sunt Heber filii duo : nomen uni Phaleg, eo quod in diebus ejus divisa sit terra : et nomen fratris ejus Jectan.
- Qui Jectan genuit Elmodad, et Saleph, et Asarmoth, Jare,
- et Aduram, et Uzal, et Decla,
- et Ebal, et Abimaël, Saba,
- et Ophir, et Hevila, et Jobab : omnes isti, filii Jectan.
- Et facta est habitatio eorum de Messa pergentibus usque Sephar montem orientalem.
- Isti filii Sem secundum cognationes, et linguas, et regiones in gentibus suis.
- Hæ familiæ Noë juxta populos et nationes suas. Ab his divisæ sunt gentes in terra post diluvium.

- By these were the isles of the Gentiles divided in their lands; every one after his tongue, after their families, in their nations.
- And the sons of Ham; Cush, and Mizraim, and Phut, and Canaan.
- And the sons of Cush; Seba, and Havilah, and Sabtah, and Raamah, and Sabtecha: and the sons of Raamah; Sheba, and Dedan.
- And Cush begat Nimrod: he began to be a mighty one in the earth.
- He was a mighty hunter before the LORD: wherefore it is said, Even as Nimrod the mighty hunter before the LORD.
