- These are the statutes and the ordinances which you shall observe to do in the land which Yahweh, the God of your fathers, has given you to possess it, all the days that you live on the earth.
- You shall surely destroy all the places in which the nations that you shall dispossess served their gods, on the high mountains, and on the hills, and under every green tree:
- and you shall break down their altars, and dash in pieces their pillars, and burn their Asherim with fire; and you shall cut down the engraved images of their gods; and you shall destroy their name out of that place.
- You shall not do so to Yahweh your God.
- But to the place which Yahweh your God shall choose out of all your tribes, to put his name there, even to his habitation you shall seek, and there you shall come;
- and there you shall bring your burnt offerings, and your sacrifices, and your tithes, and the wave offering of your hand, and your vows, and your freewill offerings, and the firstborn of your herd and of your flock:
- and there you shall eat before Yahweh your God, and you shall rejoice in all that you put your hand to, you and your households, in which Yahweh your God has blessed you.
- You shall not do after all the things that we do here this day, every man whatever is right in his own eyes;
- for you haven't yet come to the rest and to the inheritance, which Yahweh your God gives you.
- But when you go over the Jordan, and dwell in the land which Yahweh your God causes you to inherit, and he gives you rest from all your enemies around you, so that you dwell in safety;
- then it shall happen that to the place which Yahweh your God shall choose, to cause his name to dwell there, there you shall bring all that I command you: your burnt offerings, and your sacrifices, your tithes, and the wave offering of your hand, and all your choice vows which you vow to Yahweh.
- You shall rejoice before Yahweh your God, you, and your sons, and your daughters, and your male servants, and your female servants, and the Levite who is within your gates, because he has no portion nor inheritance with you.
- Take heed to yourself that you don't offer your burnt offerings in every place that you see;
- but in the place which Yahweh shall choose in one of your tribes, there you shall offer your burnt offerings, and there you shall do all that I command you.
- Notwithstanding, you may kill and eat flesh within all your gates, after all the desire of your soul, according to the blessing of Yahweh your God which he has given you: the unclean and the clean may eat of it, as of the gazelle, and as of the hart.
- Only you shall not eat the blood; you shall pour it out on the earth as water.
- You may not eat within your gates the tithe of your grain, or of your new wine, or of your oil, or the firstborn of your herd or of your flock, nor any of your vows which you vow, nor your freewill offerings, nor the wave offering of your hand;
- but you shall eat them before Yahweh your God in the place which Yahweh your God shall choose, you, and your son, and your daughter, and your male servant, and your female servant, and the Levite who is within your gates: and you shall rejoice before Yahweh your God in all that you put your hand to.
- Take heed to yourself that you don't forsake the Levite as long as you live in your land.
- When Yahweh your God shall enlarge your border, as he has promised you, and you shall say, "I want to eat meat," because your soul desires to eat meat; you may eat meat, after all the desire of your soul.
- If the place which Yahweh your God shall choose, to put his name there, is too far from you, then you shall kill of your herd and of your flock, which Yahweh has given you, as I have commanded you; and you may eat within your gates, after all the desire of your soul.
- Even as the gazelle and as the hart is eaten, so you shall eat of it: the unclean and the clean may eat of it alike.
- Only be sure that you don't eat the blood: for the blood is the life; and you shall not eat the life with the flesh.
- You shall not eat it; you shall pour it out on the earth as water.
- You shall not eat it; that it may go well with you, and with your children after you, when you shall do that which is right in the eyes of Yahweh.
- Only your holy things which you have, and your vows, you shall take, and go to the place which Yahweh shall choose:
- and you shall offer your burnt offerings, the flesh and the blood, on the altar of Yahweh your God; and the blood of your sacrifices shall be poured out on the altar of Yahweh your God; and you shall eat the flesh.
- Observe and hear all these words which I command you, that it may go well with you, and with your children after you forever, when you do that which is good and right in the eyes of Yahweh your God.
- When Yahweh your God shall cut off the nations from before you, where you go in to dispossess them, and you dispossess them, and dwell in their land;
- take heed to yourself that you not be ensnared to follow them, after that they are destroyed from before you; and that you not inquire after their gods, saying, "How do these nations serve their gods? I will do likewise."
- You shall not do so to Yahweh your God: for every abomination to Yahweh, which he hates, have they done to their gods; for even their sons and their daughters do they burn in the fire to their gods.
- Whatever thing I command you, that you shall observe to do: you shall not add thereto, nor diminish from it.

- אלה החקים והמשפטים אשר תשמרון לעשות בארץ אשר נתן יהוה אלהי אבתיך לך לרשתה כל־הימים אשר־אתם חיים על־האדמה׃
- אבד תאבדון את־כל־המקמות אשר עבדו־שם הגוים אשר אתם ירשים אתם את־אלהיהם על־ההרים הרמים ועל־הגבעות ותחת כל־עץ רעןן׃
- ונתצתם את־מזבחתם ושברתם את־מצבתם ואשריהם תשרפון באש ופסילי אלהיהם תגדעון ואבדתם את־שםם מן־המקום ההוא׃
- לא־תעשון כן ליהוה אלהיכם׃
- כי אם־אל־המקום אשר־יבחר יהוה אלהיכם מכל־שבטיכם לשום את־שמו שם לשכנו תדרשו ובאת שמה׃
- והבאתם שמה עלתיכם וזבחיכם ואת מעשרתיכם ואת תרומת ידכם ונדריכם ונדבתיכם ובכרת בקרכם וצאנכם׃
- ואכלתם־שם לפני יהוה אלהיכם ושמחתם בכל משלח ידכם אתם ובתיכם אשר ברךך יהוה אלהיך׃
- לא תעשון ככל אשר אנחנו עשים פה היום איש כל־הישר בעיניו׃
- כי לא־באתם עד־עתה אל־המנוחה ואל־הנחלה אשר־יהוה אלהיך נתן לך׃
- ועברתם את־הירדן וישבתם בארץ אשר־יהוה אלהיכם מנחיל אתכם והניח לכם מכל־איביכם מסביב וישבתם־בטח׃
- והיה המקום אשר־יבחר יהוה אלהיכם בו לשכן שמו שם שמה תביאו את כל־אשר אנכי מצוה אתכם עולתיכם וזבחיכם מעשרתיכם ותרמת ידכם וכל מבחר נדריכם אשר תדרו ליהוה׃
- ושמחתם לפני יהוה אלהיכם אתם ובניכם ובנתיכם ועבדיכם ואמהתיכם והלוי אשר בשעריכם כי אין לו חלק ונחלה אתכם׃
- השמר לך פן־תעלה עלתיך בכל־מקום אשר תראה׃
- כי אם־במקום אשר־יבחר יהוה באחד שבטיך שם תעלה עלתיך ושם תעשה כל אשר אנכי מצוך׃
- רק בכל־אות נפשך תזבח ואכלת בשר כברכת יהוה אלהיך אשר נתן־לך בכל־שעריך הטמא והטהור יאכלנו כצבי וכאיל׃
- רק הדם לא תאכלו על־הארץ תשפכנו כמים׃
- לא־תוכל לאכל בשעריך מעשר דגנך ותירשך ויצהרך ובכרת בקרך וצאנך וכל־נדריך אשר תדר ונדבתיך ותרומת ידך׃
- כי אם־לפני יהוה אלהיך תאכלנו במקום אשר יבחר יהוה אלהיך בו אתה ובנך ובתך ועבדך ואמתך והלוי אשר בשעריך ושמחת לפני יהוה אלהיך בכל משלח ידך׃
- השמר לך פן־תעזב את־הלוי כל־ימיך על־אדמתך׃ ס
- כי־ירחיב יהוה אלהיך את־גבולך כאשר דבר־לך ואמרת אכלה בשר כי־תאוה נפשך לאכל בשר בכל־אות נפשך תאכל בשר׃
- כי־ירחק ממך המקום אשר יבחר יהוה אלהיך לשום שמו שם וזבחת מבקרך ומצאנך אשר נתן יהוה לך כאשר צויתך ואכלת בשעריך בכל אות נפשך׃
- אך כאשר יאכל את־הצבי ואת־האיל כן תאכלנו הטמא והטהור יחדו יאכלנו׃
- רק חזק לבלתי אכל הדם כי הדם הוא הנפש ולא־תאכל הנפש עם־הבשר׃
- לא תאכלנו על־הארץ תשפכנו כמים׃
- לא תאכלנו למען ייטב לך ולבניך אחריך כי־תעשה הישר בעיני יהוה׃
- רק קדשיך אשר־יהיו לך ונדריך תשא ובאת אל־המקום אשר־יבחר יהוה׃
- ועשית עלתיך הבשר והדם על־מזבח יהוה אלהיך ודם־זבחיך ישפך על־מזבח יהוה אלהיך והבשר תאכל׃
- שמר ושמעת את כל־הדברים האלה אשר אנכי מצוך למען ייטב לך ולבניך אחריך עד־עולם כי תעשה הטוב והישר בעיני יהוה אלהיך׃ ס
- כי־יכרית יהוה אלהיך את־הגוים אשר אתה בא־שמה לרשת אותם מפניך וירשת אתם וישבת בארצם׃
- השמר לך פן־תנקש אחריהם אחרי השמדם מפניך ופן־תדרש לאלהיהם לאמר איכה יעבדו הגוים האלה את־אלהיהם ואעשה־כן גם־אני׃
- לא־תעשה כן ליהוה אלהיך כי כל־תועבת יהוה אשר שנא עשו לאלהיהם כי גם את־בניהם ואת־בנתיהם ישרפו באש לאלהיהם׃
- את כל־הדבר אשר אנכי מצוה אתכם אתו תשמרו לעשות לא־תסף עליו ולא תגרע ממנו׃ ף

- Hæc sunt præcepta atque judicia, quæ facere debetis in terra, quam Dominus Deus patrum tuorum daturus est tibi, ut possideas eam cunctis diebus, quibus super humum gradieris.
- Subvertite omnia loca, in quibus coluerunt gentes, quas possessuri estis, deos suos super montes excelsos, et colles, et subter omne lignum frondosum.
- Dissipate aras eorum, et confringite statuas : lucos igne comburite, et idola comminuite : disperdite nomina eorum de locis illis.
- Non facietis ita Domino Deo vestro :
- sed ad locum, quem elegerit Dominus Deus vester de cunctis tribubus vestris, ut ponat nomen suum ibi, et habitet in eo, venietis :
- et offeretis in loco illo holocausta et victimas vestras, decimas et primitias manuum vestrarum, et vota atque donaria, primogenita boum et ovium.
- Et comedetis ibi in conspectu Domini Dei vestri : ac lætabimini in cunctis, ad quæ miseritis manum vos et domus vestræ, in quibus benedixerit vobis Dominus Deus vester.
- Non facietis ibi quæ nos hic facimus hodie, singuli quod sibi rectum videtur :
- neque enim usque in præsens tempus venistis ad requiem, et possessionem, quam Dominus Deus vester daturus est vobis.
- Transibitis Jordanem, et habitabitis in terra, quam Dominus Deus vester daturus est vobis, ut requiescatis a cunctis hostibus per circuitum : et absque ullo timore habitetis
- in loco, quem elegerit Dominus Deus vester, ut sit nomen ejus in eo : illuc omnia, quæ præcipio, conferetis, holocausta, et hostias, ac decimas, et primitias manuum vestrarum : et quidquid præcipuum est in muneribus, quæ vovebitis Domino.
- Ibi epulabimini coram Domino Deo vestro, vos et filii ac filiæ vestræ, famuli et famulæ, atque Levites qui in urbibus vestris commoratur : neque enim habet aliam partem et possessionem inter vos.
- Cave ne offeras holocausta tua in omni loco, quem videris :
- sed in eo, quem elegerit Dominus, in una tribuum tuarum offeres hostias, et facies quæcumque præcipio tibi.
- Sin autem comedere volueris, et te esus carnium delectaverit, occide, comede juxta benedictionem Domini Dei tui, quam dedit tibi in urbibus tuis : sive immundum fuerit, hoc est, maculatum et debile : sive mundum, hoc est, integrum et sine macula, quod offerri licet, sicut capream et cervum, comedes :
- absque esu dumtaxat sanguinis, quem super terram quasi aquam effundes.
- Non poteris comedere in oppidis tuis decimam frumenti, et vini, et olei tui, primogenita armentorum et pecorum, et omnia quæ voveris, et sponte offerre volueris, et primitias manuum tuarum :
- sed coram Domino Deo tuo comedes ea in loco, quem elegerit Dominus Deus tuus, tu et filius tuus, et filia tua, et servus et famula, atque Levites qui manet in urbibus tuis : et lætaberis et reficieris coram Domino Deo tuo in cunctis ad quæ extenderis manum tuam.
- Cave ne derelinquas Levitem in omni tempore quo versaris in terra.
- Quando dilataverit Dominus Deus tuus terminos tuos, sicut locutus est tibi, et volueris vesci carnibus, quas desiderat anima tua :
- locus autem, quem elegerit Dominus Deus tuus ut sit nomen ejus ibi, si procul fuerit, occides de armentis et pecoribus, quæ habueris, sicut præcepi tibi, et comedes in oppidis tuis, ut tibi placet.
- Sicut comeditur caprea et cervus, ita vesceris eis : et mundus et immundus in commune vescentur.
- Hoc solum cave, ne sanguinem comedas : sanguis enim eorum pro anima est, et idcirco non debes animam comedere cum carnibus :
- sed super terram fundes quasi aquam,
- ut bene sit tibi et filiis tuis post te, cum feceris quod placet in conspectu Domini.
- Quæ autem sanctificaveris, et voveris Domino, tolles, et venies ad locum, quem elegerit Dominus :
- et offeres oblationes tuas carnem et sanguinem super altare Domini Dei tui : sanguinem hostiarum fundes in altari ; carnibus autem ipse vesceris.
- Observa et audi omnia quæ ego præcipio tibi, ut bene sit tibi et filiis tuis post te in sempiternum, cum feceris quod bonum est et placitum in conspectu Domini Dei tui.
- Quando disperdiderit Dominus Deus tuus ante faciem tuam gentes, ad quas ingredieris possidendas, et possederis eas, atque habitaveris in terra earum :
- cave ne imiteris eas, postquam te fuerint introëunte subversæ, et requiras cæremonias earum, dicens : Sicut coluerunt gentes istæ deos suos, ita et ego colam.
- Non facies similiter Domino Deo tuo. Omnes enim abominationes, quas aversatur Dominus, fecerunt diis suis, offerentes filios et filias, et comburentes igni.

- Ye shall utterly destroy all the places, wherein the nations which ye shall possess served their gods, upon the high mountains, and upon the hills, and under every green tree:
- And ye shall overthrow their altars, and break their pillars, and burn their groves with fire; and ye shall hew down the graven images of their gods, and destroy the names of them out of that place.
- Ye shall not do so unto the LORD your God.
- But unto the place which the LORD your God shall choose out of all your tribes to put his name there, even unto his habitation shall ye seek, and thither thou shalt come:
- And thither ye shall bring your burnt offerings, and your sacrifices, and your tithes, and heave offerings of your hand, and your vows, and your freewill offerings, and the firstlings of your herds and of your flocks:
- And there ye shall eat before the LORD your God, and ye shall rejoice in all that ye put your hand unto, ye and your households, wherein the LORD thy God hath blessed thee.
