After these things, Joseph of Arimathaea, being a disciple of Jesus, but secretly for fear of the Jews, asked of Pilate that he might take away Jesus' body. Pilate gave him permission. He came therefore and took away his body.

Hebrew | ויהי אחרי כן בא יוסף הרמתי והוא תלמיד ישוע אך בסתר מפני היהודים וישאל מאת פילטוס אשר יתנהו לשאת את גופת ישוע וינח לו פילטוס ויבא וישא את גופת ישוע׃ |
Greek | μετα δε ταυτα ηρωτησεν τον πιλατον ιωσηφ απο αριμαθαιας ων μαθητης ιησου κεκρυμμενος δε δια τον φοβον των ιουδαιων ινα αρη το σωμα του ιησου και επετρεψεν ο πιλατος ηλθεν ουν και ηρεν το σωμα αυτου |
Latin | Post hæc autem rogavit Pilatum Joseph ab Arimathæa (eo quod esset discipulus Jesu, occultus autem propter metum Judæorum), ut tolleret corpus Jesu. Et permisit Pilatus. Venit ergo, et tulit corpus Jesu. |
