Hebrew ויאמר יואב חי האלהים כי לולא דברת כי אז מהבקר נעלה העם איש מאחרי אחיו׃
Greek και ειπεν ιωαβ ζη κυριος οτι ει μη ελαλησας διοτι τοτε εκ πρωιθεν ανεβη ο λαος εκαστος κατοπισθεν του αδελφου
Latin Et ait Joab : Vivit Dominus, si locutus fuisses, mane recessisset populus persequens fratrem suum.
KJV And Joab said, As God liveth, unless thou hadst spoken, surely then in the morning the people had gone up every one from following his brother.
WEB Joab said, "As God lives, if you had not spoken, surely then in the morning the people would have gone away, and not each followed his brother."
