David went out to meet them, and answered them, "If you have come peaceably to me to help me, my heart shall be knit to you; but if you have come to betray me to my adversaries, since there is no wrong in my hands, may the God of our fathers look thereon, and rebuke it."

Hebrew ויצא דויד לפניהם ויען ויאמר להם אם־לשלום באתם אלי לעזרני יהיה־לי עליכם לבב ליחד ואם־לרמותני לצרי בלא חמס בכפי ירא אלהי אבותינו ויוכח׃ ס
Greek και δαυιδ εξηλθεν εις απαντησιν αυτων και ειπεν αυτοις ει εις ειρηνην ηκατε προς με ειη μοι καρδια καθ' εαυτην εφ' υμας και ει του παραδουναι με τοις εχθροις μου ουκ εν αληθεια χειρος ιδοι ο θεος των πατερων ημων και
Latin Egressusque est David obviam eis, et ait : Si pacifice venistis ad me ut auxiliemini mihi, cor meum jungatur vobis : si autem insidiamini mihi pro adversariis meis, cum ego iniquitatem in manibus non habeam, videat Deus patrum nostrorum, et judicet.
KJV And David went out to meet them, and answered and said unto them, If ye be come peaceably unto me to help me, mine heart shall be knit unto you: but if ye be come to betray me to mine enemies, seeing there is no wrong in mine hands, the God of our fathers look thereon, and rebuke it.
