Hebrew ויאמר יואב לאיש המגיד לו והנה ראית ומדוע לא־הכיתו שם ארצה ועלי לתת לך עשרה כסף וחגרה אחת׃
Greek και ειπεν ιωαβ τω ανδρι τω απαγγελλοντι και ιδου εορακας τι οτι ουκ επαταξας αυτον εις την γην και εγω αν δεδωκειν σοι δεκα αργυριου και παραζωνην
Latin Et ait Joab viro, qui nuntiaverat ei : Si vidisti, quare non confodisti eum cum terra, et ego dedissem tibi decem argenti siclos, et unum balteum ?
KJV And Joab said unto the man that told him, And, behold, thou sawest him, and why didst thou not smite him there to the ground? and I would have given thee ten shekels of silver, and a girdle.
