Hebrew ויקם שאול וירד אל־מדבר־זיף ואתו שלשת־אלפים איש בחורי ישראל לבקש את־דוד במדבר־זיף׃
Greek και ανεστη σαουλ και κατεβη εις την ερημον ζιφ και μετ' αυτου τρεις χιλιαδες ανδρων εκλεκτοι εξ ισραηλ ζητειν τον δαυιδ εν τη ερημω
Latin Et surrexit Saul, et descendit in desertum Ziph, et cum eo tria millia virorum de electis Israël, ut quæreret David in deserto Ziph.
