Benaiah came to the Tent of Yahweh, and said to him, "Thus says the king, 'Come forth!'" He said, "No; but I will die here." Benaiah brought the king word again, saying, "Thus said Joab, and thus he answered me."

Hebrew ויבא בניהו אל־אהל יהוה ויאמר אליו כה־אמר המלך צא ויאמר לא כי פה אמות וישב בניהו את־המלך דבר לאמר כה־דבר יואב וכה ענני׃
Greek και ηλθεν βαναιου υιος ιωδαε προς ιωαβ εις την σκηνην του κυριου και ειπεν αυτω ταδε λεγει ο βασιλευς εξελθε και ειπεν ιωαβ ουκ εκπορευομαι οτι ωδε αποθανουμαι και απεστρεψεν βαναιας υιος ιωδαε και ειπεν τω βασιλει λεγων ταδε λελαληκεν ιωαβ και ταδε αποκεκριται
Latin Et venit Banaias ad tabernaculum Domini, et dixit ei : Hæc dicit rex : Egredere. Qui ait : Non egrediar, sed hic moriar. Renuntiavit Banaias regi sermonem, dicens : Hæc locutus est Joab, et hæc respondit mihi.
