Did then that which is good become death to me? May it never be! But sin, that it might be shown to be sin, by working death to me through that which is good; that through the commandment sin might become exceeding sinful.

הכי הטובה היתה לי למות חלילה אלא החטא למען יראה כי חטא הוא הביא לי על ידי הטובה את המות למען אשר יהיה החטא לחטאה יתרה על ידי המצוה׃ |
Greek | το ουν αγαθον εμοι εγενετο θανατος μη γενοιτο αλλα η αμαρτια ινα φανη αμαρτια δια του αγαθου μοι κατεργαζομενη θανατον ινα γενηται καθ υπερβολην αμαρτωλος η αμαρτια δια της εντολης |
