1 John 5 Text (WEB) Whoever believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God. Whoever loves the Father also loves the child who is born of him. By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and keep his commandments. For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments. His commandments are not grievous. For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world: your faith. Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God? This is he who came by water and blood, Jesus Christ; not with the water only, but with the water and the blood. It is the Spirit who testifies, because the Spirit is the truth. For there are three who testify: the Spirit, the water, and the blood; and the three agree as one. If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater; for this is God's testimony which he has testified concerning his Son. He who believes in the Son of God has the testimony in himself. He who doesn't believe God has made him a liar, because he has not believed in the testimony that God has given concerning his Son. The testimony is this, that God gave to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He who has the Son has the life. He who doesn't have God's Son doesn't have the life. These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God. This is the boldness which we have toward him, that, if we ask anything according to his will, he listens to us. And if we know that he listens to us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions which we have asked of him. If anyone sees his brother sinning a sin not leading to death, he shall ask, and God will give him life for those who sin not leading to death. There is a sin leading to death. I don't say that he should make a request concerning this. All unrighteousness is sin, and there is a sin not leading to death. We know that whoever is born of God doesn't sin, but he who was born of God keeps himself, and the evil one doesn't touch him. We know that we are of God, and the whole world lies in the power of the evil one. We know that the Son of God has come, and has given us an understanding, that we know him who is true, and we are in him who is true, in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life. Little children, keep yourselves from idols.
1 John 5 Text (Hebrew) כל המאמין כי ישוע הוא המשיח הנה זה ילד מאלהים וכל האהב את מולידו יאהב גם את הנולד מאתו׃ בזאת נדע כי נאהב את בני האלהים באהבתנו את האלהים ובשמרנו את מצותיו׃ כי זאת אהבת אלהים היא אשר נשמר את מצותיו ומצותיו אינן כבדות׃ כי כל הנולד מאת האלהים מנצח את העולם ואמונתנו הנצחון המנצח את העולם׃ מי הוא זה המנצח את העולם אם לא המאמין בישוע שהוא בן האלהים׃ זה הוא אשר בא במים ובדם ישוע המשיח לא במים לבד כי אם במים ובדם והרוח הוא המעיד כי הרוח הוא האמת׃ כי שלשה המה המעידים בשמים האב הדבר ורוח הקדש ושלשתם אחד המה׃ ושלשה המה המעידים בארץ הרוח המים והדם ושלשתם לאחת המה׃ אם נקבל עדות בני אדם הנה עדות האלהים גדולה ממנה כי זאת היא עדות האלהים אשר העיד על בנו׃ המאמין בבן האלהים יש לו העדות בנפשו ואשר לא יאמין לאלהים לכזב שמהו יען לא האמין בעדות אשר העיד האלהים על בנו׃ וזאת היא העדות כי חיי עולמים נתן לנו האלהים והחיים האלה בבנו המה׃ אשר יש לו הבן יש לו החיים ואשר אין לו בן האלהים אין לו החיים׃ זאת כתבתי אליכם המאמינים בשם בן האלהים למען תדעון שיש לכם חיי עולם ולמען תאמינו בשם בן האלהים׃ וזה הוא בטחוננו אליו אשר אם נשאל דבר כפי רצונו ישמענו׃ ומדעתנו כי ישמענו לכל אשר נשאל נדע גם זאת כי נשיג את המשאלות אשר שאלנו ממנו׃ איש כי יראה את אחיו חוטא חטאת אשר לא למות שאל ישאל בעדו ויתן לו חיים לכל אשר חטאו לא למות הן יש חטא למות על זה לא אמר לשאל בעדו׃ כל מעשה שלא כמשפט חטא היא ויש חטא שלא למות׃ ידענו כי כל הנולד מאת האלהים לא יחטא כי אשר ילד מאת האלהים ישמר את נפשו והרע לא יגע בו׃ ידענו כי מאלהים אנחנו וכל העולם ברע הוא׃ וידענו כי בא בן אלהים ויתן לנו בינה לדעת את האמתי ובאמתי אנחנו בבנו ישוע המשיח זה הוא האל האמתי וחיי העולם׃ בני השמרו לכם מן האלילים אמן׃
1 John 5 Text (Greek) πας ο πιστευων οτι ιησους εστιν ο χριστος εκ του θεου γεγεννηται και πας ο αγαπων τον γεννησαντα αγαπα τον γεγεννημενον εξ αυτου εν τουτω γινωσκομεν οτι αγαπωμεν τα τεκνα του θεου οταν τον θεον αγαπωμεν και τας εντολας αυτου ποιωμεν αυτη γαρ εστιν η αγαπη του θεου ινα τας εντολας αυτου τηρωμεν και αι εντολαι αυτου βαρειαι ουκ εισιν οτι παν το γεγεννημενον εκ του θεου νικα τον κοσμον και αυτη εστιν η νικη η νικησασα τον κοσμον η πιστις ημων τις ο νικων τον κοσμον ει μη ο πιστευων οτι ιησους εστιν ο υιος του θεου ουτος εστιν ο ελθων δι υδατος και αιματος ιησους χριστος ουκ εν τω υδατι μονον αλλ εν τω υδατι και εν τω αιματι και το πνευμα εστιν το μαρτυρουν οτι το πνευμα εστιν η αληθεια οτι τρεις εισιν οι μαρτυρουντες το πνευμα και το υδωρ και το αιμα και οι τρεις εις το εν εισιν ει την μαρτυριαν των ανθρωπων λαμβανομεν η μαρτυρια του θεου μειζων εστιν οτι αυτη εστιν η μαρτυρια του θεου οτι μεμαρτυρηκεν περι του υιου αυτου ο πιστευων εις τον υιον του θεου εχει την μαρτυριαν εν ο μη πιστευων τω θεω ψευστην πεποιηκεν αυτον οτι ου πεπιστευκεν εις την μαρτυριαν ην μεμαρτυρηκεν ο θεος περι του υιου αυτου και αυτη εστιν η μαρτυρια οτι ζωην αιωνιον εδωκεν και αυτη η ζωη εν τω υιω αυτου εστιν ο εχων τον υιον εχει την ζωην ο μη εχων τον υιον του θεου την ζωην ουκ εχει ταυτα εγραψα υμιν ινα ειδητε οτι ζωην εχετε αιωνιον τοις πιστευουσιν εις το ονομα του υιου του θεου και αυτη εστιν η παρρησια ην εχομεν προς αυτον οτι εαν τι αιτωμεθα κατα το θελημα αυτου ακουει ημων και εαν οιδαμεν οτι ακουει ημων ο εαν αιτωμεθα οιδαμεν οτι εχομεν τα αιτηματα α ητηκαμεν απ αυτου εαν τις ιδη τον αδελφον αυτου αμαρτανοντα αμαρτιαν μη προς θανατον αιτησει και δωσει αυτω ζωην τοις αμαρτανουσιν μη προς θανατον εστιν αμαρτια προς θανατον ου περι εκεινης λεγω ινα ερωτηση πασα αδικια αμαρτια εστιν και εστιν αμαρτια ου προς θανατον οιδαμεν οτι πας ο γεγεννημενος εκ του θεου ουχ αμαρτανει αλλ ο γεννηθεις εκ του θεου τηρει αυτον και ο πονηρος ουχ απτεται αυτου οιδαμεν οτι εκ του θεου εσμεν και ο κοσμος ολος εν τω πονηρω κειται οιδαμεν δε οτι ο υιος του θεου ηκει και δεδωκεν ημιν διανοιαν ινα τον αληθινον και εσμεν εν τω αληθινω εν τω υιω αυτου ιησου χριστω ουτος εστιν ο αληθινος θεος και ζωη αιωνιος τεκνια φυλαξατε εαυτα απο των ειδωλων
1 John 5 Text (Latin) Omnis qui credit quoniam Jesus est Christus, ex Deo natus est. Et omnis qui diligit eum qui genuit, diligit et eum qui natus est ex eo. In hoc cognoscimus quoniam diligamus natos Dei, cum Deum diligamus, et mandata ejus faciamus. Hæc est enim caritas Dei, ut mandata ejus custodiamus : et mandata ejus gravia non sunt. Quoniam omne quod natum est ex Deo, vincit mundum : et hæc est victoria, quæ vincit mundum, fides nostra. Quis est, qui vincit mundum, nisi qui credit quoniam Jesus est Filius Dei ? Hic est, qui venit per aquam et sanguinem, Jesus Christus : non in aqua solum, sed in aqua et sanguine. Et Spiritus est, qui testificatur quoniam Christus est veritas. Quoniam tres sunt, qui testimonium dant in cælo : Pater, Verbum, et Spiritus Sanctus : et hi tres unum sunt. Et tres sunt, qui testimonium dant in terra : spiritus, et aqua, et sanguis : et hi tres unum sunt. Si testimonium hominum accipimus, testimonium Dei majus est : quoniam hoc est testimonium Dei, quod majus est, quoniam testificatus est de Filio suo. Qui credit in Filium Dei, habet testimonium Dei in se. Qui non credit Filio, mendacem facit eum : quia non credit in testimonium quod testificatus est Deus de Filio suo. Et hoc est testimonium, quoniam vitam æternam dedit nobis Deus : et hæc vita in Filio ejus est. Qui habet Filium, habet vitam : qui non habet Filium, vitam non habet. Hæc scribo vobis ut sciatis quoniam vitam habetis æternam, qui creditis in nomine Filii Dei. Et hæc est fiducia, quam habemus ad eum : quia quodcumque petierimus, secundum voluntatem ejus, audit nos. Et scimus quia audit nos quidquid petierimus : scimus quoniam habemus petitiones quas postulamus ab eo. Qui scit fratrem suum peccare peccatum non ad mortem, petat, et dabitur ei vita peccanti non ad mortem. Est peccatum ad mortem : non pro illo dico ut roget quis. Omnis iniquitas, peccatum est : et est peccatum ad mortem. Scimus quia omnis qui natus est ex Deo, non peccat : sed generatio Dei conservat eum, et malignus non tangit eum. Scimus quoniam ex Deo sumus : et mundus totus in maligno positus est. Et scimus quoniam Filius Dei venit, et dedit nobis sensum ut cognoscamus verum Deum, et simus in vero Filio ejus. Hic est verus Deus, et vita æterna. Filioli, custodite vos a simulacris. Amen.

By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments. For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous. He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son. These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God. And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him. If any man see his brother sin a sin which is not unto death, he shall ask, and he shall give him life for them that sin not unto death. There is a sin unto death: I do not say that he shall pray for it. All unrighteousness is sin: and there is a sin not unto death. We know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not; but he that is begotten of God keepeth himself, and that wicked one toucheth him not. And we know that we are of God, and the whole world lieth in wickedness. And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life. Little children, keep yourselves from idols. Amen.
