Isaiah 53 - Versions
Isaiah 53 Text (WEB)
  1. Who has believed our message? To whom has the arm of Yahweh been revealed?
  2. For he grew up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of dry ground. He has no form nor comeliness. When we see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him.
  3. He was despised, and rejected by men; a man of suffering, and acquainted with disease. He was despised as one from whom men hide their face; and we didn't respect him.
  4. Surely he has borne our sickness, and carried our suffering; yet we considered him plagued, struck by God, and afflicted.
  5. But he was pierced for our transgressions. He was crushed for our iniquities. The punishment that brought our peace was on him; and by his wounds we are healed.
  6. All we like sheep have gone astray. Everyone has turned to his own way; and Yahweh has laid on him the iniquity of us all.
  7. He was oppressed, yet when he was afflicted he didn't open his mouth. As a lamb that is led to the slaughter, and as a sheep that before its shearers is mute, so he didn't open his mouth.
  8. He was taken away by oppression and judgment; and as for his generation, who considered that he was cut off out of the land of the living and stricken for the disobedience of my people?
  9. They made his grave with the wicked, and with a rich man in his death; although he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth.
  10. Yet it pleased Yahweh to bruise him. He has caused him to suffer. When you make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed. He shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of Yahweh shall prosper in his hand.
  11. After the suffering of his soul, he will see the light and be satisfied. My righteous servant will justify many by the knowledge of himself; and he will bear their iniquities.
  12. Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he poured out his soul to death, and was numbered with the transgressors; yet he bore the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.

  1. מי האמין לשמעתנו וזרוע יהוה על־מי נגלתה׃
  2. ויעל כיונק לפניו וכשרש מארץ ציה לא־תאר לו ולא הדר ונראהו ולא־מראה ונחמדהו׃
  3. נבזה וחדל אישים איש מכאבות וידוע חלי וכמסתר פנים ממנו נבזה ולא חשבנהו׃
  4. אכן חלינו הוא נשא ומכאבינו סבלם ואנחנו חשבנהו נגוע מכה אלהים ומענה׃
  5. והוא מחלל מפשענו מדכא מעונתינו מוסר שלומנו עליו ובחברתו נרפא־לנו׃
  6. כלנו כצאן תעינו איש לדרכו פנינו ויהוה הפגיע בו את עון כלנו׃
  7. נגש והוא נענה ולא יפתח־פיו כשה לטבח יובל וכרחל לפני גזזיה נאלמה ולא יפתח פיו׃
  8. מעצר וממשפט לקח ואת־דורו מי ישוחח כי נגזר מארץ חיים מפשע עמי נגע למו׃
  9. ויתן את־רשעים קברו ואת־עשיר במתיו על לא־חמס עשה ולא מרמה בפיו׃
  10. ויהוה חפץ דכאו החלי אם־תשים אשם נפשו יראה זרע יאריך ימים וחפץ יהוה בידו יצלח׃
  11. מעמל נפשו יראה ישבע בדעתו יצדיק צדיק עבדי לרבים ועונתם הוא יסבל׃
  12. לכן אחלק־לו ברבים ואת־עצומים יחלק שלל תחת אשר הערה למות נפשו ואת־פשעים נמנה והוא חטא־רבים נשא ולפשעים יפגיע׃ ס

  1. κυριε τις επιστευσεν τη ακοη ημων και ο βραχιων κυριου τινι
  2. αλλα το ειδος αυτου ατιμον εκλειπον παρα παντας ανθρωπους ανθρωπος εν πληγη ων και ειδως φερειν μαλακιαν οτι απεστραπται το προσωπον αυτου ητιμασθη και ουκ
  3. αλλα το ειδος αυτου ατιμον εκλειπον παρα παντας ανθρωπους ανθρωπος εν πληγη ων και ειδως φερειν μαλακιαν οτι απεστραπται το προσωπον αυτου ητιμασθη και ουκ
  4. ουτος τας αμαρτιας ημων φερει και περι ημων οδυναται και ημεις ελογισαμεθα αυτον ειναι εν πονω και εν πληγη και εν
  5. αυτος δε ετραυματισθη δια τας ανομιας ημων και μεμαλακισται δια τας αμαρτιας ημων παιδεια ειρηνης ημων επ' αυτον τω μωλωπι αυτου ημεις
  6. παντες ως προβατα επλανηθημεν ανθρωπος τη οδω αυτου επλανηθη και κυριος παρεδωκεν αυτον ταις αμαρτιαις
  7. και αυτος δια το κεκακωσθαι ουκ ανοιγει το στομα ως προβατον επι σφαγην ηχθη και ως αμνος εναντιον του κειροντος αυτον αφωνος ουτως ουκ ανοιγει το στομα
  8. εν τη ταπεινωσει η κρισις αυτου ηρθη την γενεαν αυτου τις διηγησεται οτι αιρεται απο της γης η ζωη αυτου απο των ανομιων του λαου μου ηχθη εις
  9. και δωσω τους πονηρους αντι της ταφης αυτου και τους πλουσιους αντι του θανατου αυτου οτι ανομιαν ουκ εποιησεν ουδε ευρεθη δολος εν τω στοματι
  10. και κυριος βουλεται καθαρισαι αυτον της πληγης εαν δωτε περι αμαρτιας η ψυχη υμων οψεται σπερμα μακροβιον και βουλεται κυριος
  11. απο του πονου της ψυχης αυτου δειξαι αυτω φως και πλασαι τη συνεσει δικαιωσαι δικαιον ευ δουλευοντα πολλοις και τας αμαρτιας αυτων αυτος
  12. δια τουτο αυτος κληρονομησει πολλους και των ισχυρων μεριει σκυλα ανθ' ων παρεδοθη εις θανατον η ψυχη αυτου και εν τοις ανομοις ελογισθη και αυτος αμαρτιας πολλων ανηνεγκεν και δια τας αμαρτιας αυτων

  1. Quis credidit auditui nostro ? et brachium Domini cui revelatum est ?
  2. Et ascendet sicut virgultum coram eo ; et sicut radix de terra sitienti. Non est species ei, neque decor, et vidimus eum, et non erat aspectus, et desideravimus eum ;
  3. despectum, et novissimum virorum, virum dolorum, et scientem infirmitatem ; et quasi absconditus vultus ejus et despectus, unde nec reputavimus eum.
  4. Vere languores nostros ipse tulit, et dolores nostros ipse portavit ; et nos putavimus eum quasi leprosum, et percussum a Deo, et humiliatum.
  5. Ipse autem vulneratus est propter iniquitates nostras, attritus est propter scelera nostra ; disciplina pacis nostræ super eum, et livore ejus sanati sumus.
  6. Omnes nos quasi oves erravimus, unusquisque in viam suam declinavit ; et posuit Dominus in eo iniquitatem omnium nostrum.
  7. Oblatus est quia ipse voluit, et non aperuit os suum ; sicut ovis ad occisionem ducetur, et quasi agnus coram tondente se obmutescet, et non aperiet os suum.
  8. De angustia, et de judicio sublatus est. Generationem ejus quis enarrabit ? quia abscissus est de terra viventium : propter scelus populi mei percussi eum.
  9. Et dabit impios pro sepultura, et divitem pro morte sua, eo quod iniquitatem non fecerit, neque dolus fuerit in ore ejus.
  10. Et Dominus voluit conterere eum in infirmitate. Si posuerit pro peccato animam suam, videbit semen longævum, et voluntas Domini in manu ejus dirigetur.
  11. Pro eo quod laboravit anima ejus videbit et saturabitur. In scientia sua justificabit ipse justus servus meus multos, et iniquitates eorum ipse portabit.
  12. Ideo dispertiam ei plurimos, et fortium dividet spolia, pro eo quod tradidit in mortem animam suam, et cum sceleratis reputatus est, et ipse peccata multorum tulit, et pro transgressoribus rogavit.

  3. He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.
  4. Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.
  5. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
  6. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.
  7. He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth.
  8. He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken.
  9. And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death; because he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth.
  10. Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand.
  11. He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities.
