Washington is a state in the Northwest of the United States. It should not be confused with Washington, D.C., the nation's capital city. Christians account for about two-thirds of the population with two-thirds of them Protestant and one-third Roman Catholic. There is also a large Mormon population. A quarter of the population identify themselves as non-religious.
