		+	According to [[Exodus]] (of which Moses has written himself), Moses was born of the [[Tribe of Levi]] sometime between the 16th and 12th century B.C in [[Egypt]]. When he was born, Hebrews had already been enslaved in Egypt and all Hebrew boys were ordered to be casted into the river. His mother did not want to let her son die, so she hid him for three months before casting him away down the Nile in a small ark.

		+	Fortunately, Moses was discovered by Pharaoh's daughter who had compassion for the baby boy. She requested a nurse to nurture the boy.

		+	One day, Moses spotted an Egyptian slave owner beating a Hebrew servant and Moses murdered him. Moses fled to [[Midian]] when Pharaoh learned of the killing. While in Midian, Moses married [[Zipporah]] who was one of seven daughters of a priest after Moses had helped them with their farm animals
