New page

Latin is a language that originated in the 7th century BC and grew with the conquests of the Roman Empire throughout the 1st century BC and the 1st century AD.

Historical Usage
The language has historically been spoken in Rome and was the language used by Roman politicians throughout the Roman Empire (although the common language of most of the people was rarely Latin). Ever since, many Crusader States considered the language as a 'ceremonial language' but it was never in common use among ordinary people. This is likely due to the Roman empire among the first empires to adopt Christianity as its state religion, but most definitely the first major empire.
