Muslims have many different interpretations of what happened to Jesus and the crucifixion, but all of them encounter serious logical, historical, and theological problems. Another view is that the Qur'an states Jesus was crucified, resurrected, and then ascended. This article will ''not'' use historical evidence or the resurrection; its purpose is to understand what the Qur'an meant.
Begun by Ahmed Deedat, but held by nonMuslims for some time, the swoon theory says that Jesus was crucified but did not die. Three days later he rivived and people naturally believed he had risen from the dead. The problem with this is that it does not fit well with the Qur'an and it was not physically possible for someone to survive crucifixion.
===Elevetation Elevation Theory===
Jesus died but was not resurrected or ascend to heaven. Rather, his status was elevated by God.
