Hebrew והוא לא דבר את זאת מחמלתו על העניים כי אם גנב היה וכיס הכסף אתו וישא כל אשר ישימו בו׃
Greek ειπεν δε τουτο ουχ οτι περι των πτωχων εμελεν αυτω αλλ οτι κλεπτης ην και το γλωσσοκομον εχων τα βαλλομενα εβασταζεν
Latin Dixit autem hoc, non quia de egenis pertinebat ad eum, sed quia fur erat, et loculos habens, ea quæ mittebantur, portabat.
KJV This he said, not that he cared for the poor; but because he was a thief, and had the bag, and bare what was put therein.
