Hebrew וישם דניאל על־לבו אשר לא־יתגאל בפתבג המלך וביין משתיו ויבקש משר הסריסים אשר לא יתגאל׃
Greek και ενεθυμηθη δανιηλ εν τη καρδια οπως μη αλισγηθη εν τω δειπνω του βασιλεως και εν ω πινει οινω και ηξιωσε τον αρχιευνουχον ινα μη
Latin Proposuit autem Daniel in corde suo ne pollueretur de mensa regis, neque de vino potus ejus : et rogavit eunuchorum præpositum ne contaminaretur.
KJV But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king's meat, nor with the wine which he drank: therefore he requested of the prince of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself.
